I just downloaded the EZMix update 102. I am running Pro Tools 8.0.5 which is a native 64bit version of Pro Tools…The readme instructions tell me that the 64bit installer will not work with Pro Tools, because Pro Tools doesn’t run 64 bit. This isn’t true. It’s even more false, once you get to Pro Tools 9 and Pro Tools 10. Am I “stuck” running this in 32bit mode as RTAS in Pro Tools?
Are there any plans to release a full 64 bit RTAS version anytime soon?
Thanks!

Pro Tools 8, 9 and 10 is not using 64 bit addressing. RTAS and TDM are 2 of the main reasons that PT is holding back on 64bit as they are switching to a format called AAX. Pro tools will currently run on a 64 bit environment, but only as a 32bit application. There are no plans (from what I can tell) for Avid to develop a 64 bit RTAS format.
Take a look at this thread at DUC (the Avid Protools forum) for more information.
