Is both the clean sound and the processed sound from EZmix 2 being recorded into the same track in your DAW? Do you have EZmix 2 placed as an insert effect on the guitar channel, or on a bus?

    Hi Henrik
    Thanks for your reply
Well, there was not supposed to be a clean sound at all. Taht is the issue. Especially the the E string rings through. I have exmix inserted on a channel, not on a buss.

Yesterday I also had bad latency but not today. And finnaly…..Ive recorded a track with the Behringer Sansamp clone with distortion, added ezmix 2 with a dest. preset, and during the parts that are muted there is a high-pitch squeeling sound from the recording :-/

    Kind regards
    John

Can you post some screenshots from your DAW (tracks, mixer and other stuff that is relevant) so we can have a look on how you have routed the audio?

    Hi Henrik

I am sorry for the late reply. I have tried making a screen shot, but the file was too large to up-load.

But I will try to descripe the issue again

There is really nothing special about my set-up. I have one guitar track where I have added ezmix 2. I chose one of the distorted presets and when i strum the string I hear the clean signal on top of the distorted signal. Imagine using a DI for recording, You add nothing to the signal, just pure clean sound from the guitar. Then I add the ezmix preset, but I still hear that clean sound.

I am just about to give up on ezmix….this is very frustrating. Especially when is seems like noone else in the world have had the same issue as I have

Maybe some basic information might help us determine the problem.
    A) PC or Mac?
    B) what interface, brand model, are you using?
    C) which DAW are you recording with? ( Protools, Cubase, Studio One)?
    D) you mention a Behringer device, model and how is it connected.

Mac Studio M1 Max, RAM 64 GB, 1TB Drive, OSX 12.x/13.x and Windows 10 (VM)
DAW: Studio One Pro (always up to date)
DTX Express III (Extreme triggers), Nektar LX88
    OWC Thunderbay Mini (4 X 1TB Sata SSD), Express 4M2 (4 X 2TB M.2 SSD), Envoy Express (1TB M.2 SSD)

    Hi Brad
Thank You for engaing yourself in this tread. Much appresiated
    A) PC, core i5, 8gb ram
    B) Presonus USB interface
    C) Reaper DAW
    D) Behringer GDI. Its a guitar amp modeller inspired by Sansamp. When not engaged it works just like a regular DI. I have tried two different buitar and a bass, and also tried running directly into the interface. Same problem.

SO once again – before engaging any of the presets in exmix you will normally just hear the clean signal from the guitar/bass. But when enganing a preset, the clean signal is still audiable. It is really weired :-/

    Once again…. Thank you

Ok, to exclude any other problems (like having Direct Listening enabled, that sends the clean audio straight out) – if you load any other plugin instead of EZmix – does the clean sound disappear?

Some Presonus interfaces, AudioBox for example, have a “Mixer” knob. The far left, “Inputs” will give the direct signal from your device, in this case your guitar via the Behringer DI box, far right “playback” will give audio from your host DAW and any plugins. If that knob is in the centre, you should hear both.
Presonus makes a few interfaces, which one are you using and could this be the issue?

    Hi Henrik and Brad

I will check out your recommendations ASAP.

Brad – you may be right about the ballance knop on my interface. Never thought that it might be the issue.

Henrik – I will test other plugins also.

Thank You both for your comments and dedication to help me out. Much appreciated!

    Hi Brad

It seems like your tip on using the ballance knop on the interface did the trick. Now I get the presets full blast with no interferance.

I cannot tell you how gratefull I am, but also a little ashamed of beeing a noob 😛

    Thanks a million!!!
