I’m thinking of using EZKeys in a live situation. My problem is I’ll need two different tones from my two MIDI keyboards, so while my left hand is playing one sound, the right is playing another. I’d therefore like to be able to have two instances of EKKeys running (standalone, with no sequencer in use), one picking up the MIDI signal from one keyboard, and the other instance picking up the other. So my question is “is this possible?” The reason I’m asking rather than just trying it out is because I don’t currently have two MIDI keyboards so would like to know if its likely to work before I splash out. Thanks
No that is not possible. This is where you need a host of some sort. Such a host may not need to be very expensive. There may even be free ones that work well for you, since you are not interested in a sequenser.

Oh ok, well I have Cubase. I just didn’t envisage using it in this scenario. So let me see if I understand your meaning. . . I open up Cubase and create two new VST instrument tracks, both using EZKeys, but using duifferent tones/settings and I can then control each track separately using different keyboard controllers? That would be a great solution if I could pull it off. . .
Yes, for each MIDI track in Cubase you can specify which MIDI source and MIDI channel to use.
