Recently my external hardrive died with my instrument Libraries on it.
Since then all my EZ keys instruments say they are not installed and when I try to reinstall them with the product manager it will not finish the install. I have tried multiple times with each of the 3 different instruments I own but they always get stuck at the end.
It would seem that my mac tries to install the libraries on the old drive and then when it can’t find it gets stuck. I have looked at other forum answers and there seems to be no way to select a new pathway for the library (you can only set the download path for the installation software). Occasionally, the installer mentions this as a problem but doesn’t allow you to change anything. Does anyone know how to reset the library location for ezkeys? Or do I have to delete all my toontrack products and start again?
Note: I also have EZdrummer 2 and Ezbass and they have all recently installed expansions and midi packs without a problem (I assume these products were installed to my mac hardrive and not the failed external drive?).

Hi,
Go to system disk > Library > Application Support. Look at the “EZkeys” icon there. If it has an arrow on it, delete it (because that means it is a symbolic link to your external disk).
Then open Applications > Utilities > Terminal, paste the following command there (all of the below text) and press Enter.
/usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c 'Set :SoundPath "/Library/Application Support/EZkeys"' /Users/Shared/Toontrack/Preferences/com.toontrack.ezkeys.plist

Hi worked great! All up and running now. Thanks!
Note: only the top line of text pasted into Terminal worked – the whole of the text gave error type messages.
All of the red text would be needed, nothing below it. 🙂
