I am kind of new to Ezkeys. Tried demos time ago, finally bought it a few weeks back. Got the V2 today. I have two questions for seasoned users.

    1. While pretty and feature packed, It seems V2 is much more sluggish than V1. My computer should handle tis without issues. Is it just me?
    2.  Biggest disappointment so far with V2: Many 3rd party loop libraries do not have the loops set at Bar1/Beat1 and that messes up EZkeys. So lets say you have, or picked up a decent melodic loop pack that has for example 100 files, that do not start at first bar, you are up for lot of manual work re-saving them to work properly in EZkeys. Some packs are much larger than 100 files…I was hoping this would be fixed in EZkeys2, but it’s not. Have any one encountered what I described? If yes, have anyone found intelligent way to bulk re-save  instead of monkey work re-saving these individually?

    Thanks!

I can only address #1. What buffer setting are you running at? As this within a DAW or EZKeys 2 Standalone?

DAW as a plugin. 512 or 1024…  I see what you are hinting on,  but this is not related. My computer is fast enough to handle this stuff.  I only asked if it is me who is experiencing this very noticeable slower performance when comparing V1 vs V2 or this is common.

I usually don’t track higher than 256 otherwise things do seem sluggish.
As you have a high configured host, try lower the buffer and see if that helps.

Also… do you get the same response from standalone?

    Brad,

    thanks… I  am a DAW user of nearly 25 years 🙂

To me V2 feels more sluggish than V1. I am not looking for “solutions”. This is opinion based question comparing performance of 2 software titles. To make it more clear: “under same circumstances”.

Do you feel that V2 is slower than V1?

I’m just about to dive into some testing so will keep this in mind.

That said, it wouldn’t surprise me if the UI is a little more performance intensive, as it’s obviously more complex, even though it’s now common across the product line.

Not sure if it’s GPU accelerated like some other newer plugins are.

    What DAW are you using?

Got it, when I first try and help someone out, I don’t know what level of technical expertise I am replying to, so I start at 0 and work my way up. 🙂

I hear what you’re saying, comparing apples to apples.

I am not sensing it here, however I hadn’t used EZKeys 1 in a while. I put a session up in Studio One now with both EZKeys 1/2 (monitor active for both and the same Studio Grand/Standard EZKX ). Not hearing any phasiness (Ok maybe not an ACTUAL word). However, the UIs definitely feel different. Maybe my “different” is your “sluggishness” I dunno…

    Cakewalk.

I have plenty of heavy duty / resource hungry plugins.   I would rank EZkeys V2 on sluggishness scale 1-10 at about 7,  while V1 at about 3.  Don’t get me wrong,  V2 is still fully usable and has plenty of neat features, and if I didn’t test drive V1, I wouldn’t even started this topic. Just curious of what people think.
