You can’t drag midi from a track into EZbass, have to save it as a midi file first.
I don’t like that so much. I can record it in which is a little better.
It’s supposed to be able to drag midi from EZkeys to EZbass, and it appears to be working.
As far as if you drag a part from a track you get a circle with line through it, but if you drag a part from EZkeys then the cursor changes over EZbass to a page icon with a Plus on it.
So that would be really good except when I drop it there it says Toontrack has crashed and then a second later Studio One disappears.(crashes)
Any ideas?
Thanks
Same here as well within Studio One, crashes whenever i drag from ezkeys to the midi in ezbass.
Can you check that you have latest version of EZkeys installed? Easiest done using Product Manager.
If that’s not the case – can you guys please attach the crash log in a post here so we can see what’s causing the crash?

For me, I bought the product yesterday. After installing it there was an upgrade available so I did that. Yesterday there was a new update to S1 released.
I also did that. I’m going to go try it on a different computer that hasn’t had the S1 update yet just to check.
Yes, Thomas…. same for me as well, i have the latest S1 update and the EZBass update installed as well.
Attached is a fresh dump. For EZBass 1.03, S1 with latest update, Windows 10 latest updates.
Thanks for the help Henrik.
Sorry, did not zip up the dump file. Attached as .zip
The problem is that Studio One closes the EZkeys GUI which is performing the drag operation. As a workaround, you can drag the MIDI from EZkeys to the desktop and then from the desktop to EZbass. Or drag from the EZkeys standalone to the EZbass plug.

Thanked by: hardidrThanks Olaf, am doing some testing on this. As the issue is exactly what you described, you can’t drag from EZK to EZB because EZK goes away as soon as the file is dropped into the drums and keys. So my workaround now is to open up EZD, EZK, and EZB in their stand alone, then i can drag between them, and then can drag into S1, since you can’t drag out of studio one.
And if essential to export from S1 for midi, right clicking within S1 on the MIDI section that you want to work with then choosing “Export Selection”, and when the save as box opens up, change the file type to “midi” instead of “music loop” then import the midi to EZB to enable the drums and keys feature.
Not exactly of course my preferred method, but since S1 won’t cooperate on drag/drop, … can at least drag and drop between all of the EZ(s) from standalone, the you can drag straight into S1. Don’t forget to disable follow host on the standalone, and be sure to add the instruments to the tracks that you are dragging the midi into as there will be no sound since S1 won’t know the instrument you want the midi to be played via.
I have been able to drag from EZKeys to EZBass in Studio One, by opening EZBass and pinning it so that it stays open, you can do the same with EZKeys, but it’s not necessary. Slightly overlap EZKeys and EZBass and you should be able to drag the track from EZKeys to EZBass.

Thanked by: Henrik Ekblom and hardidrThe pinning thing was something I wasn’t aware of, learn something everyday.
I was dragging the midi up to the top where you select other instruments and that would change the window to EZbass then drop it in EZ and it would crash.
Having the two windows open at the same time solves the problem.
Took a few times to get the pin thing to work but cool, I don’t like exporting files and then importing back in. Leaves a trail of files.
If I need midi from something else I put it on the Scaler track and hit record in Scaler and hit play in S1 and it gets recorded in.

Excuse my ignorance, but, how do you pin EZBass to stay open?
In the top right hand corner of the plugin window is an X and next to it is a little pin icon. That’s it.
You click it then go click another instrument icon to get your other window open.
Took me a few times to get it to work but once you get two windows open then you can transfer midi without crashing.
I’d never had occasion to need it before.
I’ve been using S1 since V2.
