Hi- I am having issues where midi is drifting out of tune.
I can open a project, and everything is fine. But over time, the pitch will shift quite a bit, usually a half to a whole step sharp. It doesn’t take long.
If I do a reboot, open a project, and immediately bounce the track, it will sound fine. But once the pitch is screwed up, even the bounced track will be out of tune.
I can create a new project and have the same issue, so it doesn’t look like this is any project specific setup.
My research into this problem always suggests that malfunctioning hardware is to blame. But the problem seems to occur even with no hardware connected (there is only a single keyboard in use.)
Also notable- the problem does not seem to happen with other midi tracks, just EZKeys. But once the pitch has shifted in EZKeys, IT WILL AFFECT OTHER MIDI TRACKS EVEN WITH NO HARDWARE CONTROLLERS CONNECTED.
It also seems like CPU usage is unusually high when the problems occur.
On paper, this seems like an issue with Logic (and it likely is) but it only manifests with EZKeys, and EZKeys has become so integral to my writing that I need it to work.
Any ideas?
Hi,
if the EZkeys plugin is going out of tune my first thought would be it isn’t Authorised. If you open the PM, does it say you need to Authorise EZkeys?

That’s a good thought, but everything is definitely licensed and current.
Well, unless you have MIDI out enabled and connected to another track, EZkeys cannot send any MIDI to it.
I can of course take a look at one of your Projects where this manifests but I really do think this is hardware related.
You write that you only have a single keyboard connected, have you checked with a MIDI monitor that this keyboard isn’t sending data?
I have seen similar cases where a faulty pitch wheel was the cause.
What about your Audio hardware? Does it have an external clock? Or if it doesn’t could this be an internal clock issue?

John
