Have you extracted the installer before running it?

You could also try to move the downloaded zip file to your desktop before extracting it. Please let us know how it worked out.

Thanks for getting back. Yes I unzipped and yes I just tried moving it to my desktop. And I hit “retry” numerous times. It went through practically the whole install process before I got the error. I believe I posted a jpg of the error message with this email.

Seeing the the ‘Folder Task’ reads ‘Extract All Files’ it would seem that you haven’t extracted all the files.

Right-click on the original .zip file and select ‘Extract all…’

you can also see it in the error message that the file is located in a .zip, but hey, who reads those 😉

I had this error too. It’s confusing as double-clicking the zip file appears as it has been extracted (I’m sure that depends on various unzipping programs on one’s computer). it hasn’t. One has to right click and “extract”. It will look identical to the first way, but it will work.

yes, unfortunately, that’s one of the ‘innovation’ brought in the last few years, both by Microsoft and 3rd party in term of manipulating archives. At least Microsoft, I believe starting with Windows 7, display a big warning screen telling you that things could go wrong when you run an installer from within an archive it has allowed you to browse.

… more convenient features, less savvy implementations, welcome to the 21st century 😉

Hey thanks. Got it! Yeah, I’ve unzipped and executed hundreds of files from just DD clicking the download box. And as mentioned above, it looked like it was unzipped. The exe file was there and everything. Oh well, live and hopefully learn!
