Most likely cause is an empty instrument track in Logic causing it to believe that the plugin is not in use and turns it off in order to conserve resources. Two solution to solve this:

    • Put an empty MIDI region on Logic’s instrument track.
    • Disable this feature in the preferences.

Hard to say why without seeing your project file. Perhaps if you post it without any audio, we can have a look (ZIP it up first).

Put a midi track from EZKeys 2 on an empty instrument track. When that red message pops up, just hit play in your DAW and the message will disappear. It doesn’t do it in EZDrumner 3 because they patched it. Don’t know why they can’t patch this to but that’s how it is.

I know it sounds like I repeated Bear’s advice but the bit about a EZKeys midi and playing the midi in the DAW came from Toontrack help, after a bit of back and forth and it worked.

Usually means your blue power button on the instrument plug-in window  is off 👍🏻

There is no such patch. EZ Drummer is probably on because the instrument track is selected and armed for all we know. Logic Pro X goes into live mode at this point and will turn on the plug-ins.

I have a template with blank MIDI track in all of instrument tracks containing ToonTrack instruments. This way, I don’t have to do it when I create a new song. Not to mention that I have all of my plug-ins in place ready to record.

You didn’t provide much details. Thus, it is hard to tell what is happening. If you are not getting audio in standalone, I would first check the Audio/MIDI settings.
