Could it just be as simple as no one is asking for it? Then let me be the first.
Tell us all please, that a EZKeys2 is on the drawing board and set for release in xxx/2016.
You know what I am asking for. Like you did with EZDrummer – EZDrummer2. Well, it doesn’t have to be that spectacular! But some thing to show commitment and maturity for this lovely program.
At a minimum can we at lease talk about it? This forum is soooo slow. Perhaps this could be a new level of life and pay off in dividends to the company bottom line.
Maybe if I say – Please and Thank you.

My 3 sons, I mean cents, I mean 2 cents…
If the the product was not of value & no update in the works I think we woulda heard that by now. I am also sure they monitor the forum. I am surprised though that if it’s in the works that they would not say so. BUT, when it happens “out of the blue,” man, will we be surprised & excited. Side bar… EZGuitar. Really I am not sure what to think, but I certainly hope it’s coming, and if it is it will be was cool as the recent releases in the EZ line. Maybe if I used or needed it more than I do I would have a stronger opinion, but I do get by with the latest version – but I’m really looking fwd to an upgrade, to work the same way as the new EZ line products. As well, I am sure it takes some (a lot of) time to make the newer type products and upgrades. I can’t really come down on this company that has helped so much with what we do musically. I will wait patiently to see what’s next. TT makes killer products and that’s not gonna change, no doubt… something’s coming. In hind-sight, I shoulda just posted I knew someone at TT and leak some tidbit, HAHAHAHAHA.
I would also like very much to see an EZ acoustic guitar. Something along the lines of the Native Instruments Session guitarist plugin. It seems like it would be relatively easy to create some rhythm guitar parts, both midi strumming and picked guitar patterns, in a way similar to the Session guitarist plug-ins but applied to the EZBass format. That would be a very welcome addition. I can see why they would start with EZ bass, which is pretty much monophonic. I expect the polyphonic nature of the piano keyboard is also one reason why there has been such a delay in creating a new EZkeys. To try to do some of the fancier stuff with so many notes and chords involved is probably a programmers nightmare. Even so, it seems like some simple mechanical upgrades to the interface, etc. would be EZ enough to create, at least to hold us over until they come out with a major upgrade.
@Zed
Toontrack did appear to have a representative earlier on in this thread who was responding to posts but obviously under an NDA so he couldn’t really say anything. I think he gave up because he started getting too much grief from posters.
If they have abandoned the project, fine, but they have a moral and ethical responsibility to sell software that works. EZKeys doesn’t work at all as of June 2022, yet Toontrack continues to sell the nonfunctional products and expansions, to make false claims that the product is just fine, and do nothing to support their product. This is both immoral, unethical, disrespectful, arrogant and probably illegal.
They owe us paying customers an explanation, and failing that, pull the products from the market.
Just for the record, new DAWs have a feature called the chord track, which essentially does the same thing as EZKeys, minus the cool midi packs they make(which are great but useless outside of the non-functioning EZKeys. Except, I just figured out a way to extract the midi for use externally, though the process is slow and clunky, at least I can use the midipacks I paid good money for.
Its a shame, really, because EZKeys was once a wonderful product and one of my absolute favorite. Not any more.
Other Toontrack products I own, like EZBass and EZDrums 2 (and3) are absolutely fantastic.Toontrack, your silence tells us everything we need to know about you as a company and as people.
The claim that EZkeys does not work at all is false if anything, please stop posting stuff like that.
If you need help get up and running, post a new thread with what you are experiencing, system specs and steps you have tried so far. Alternatively open a Support Ticket via the ‘Contact Support’ button found at the bottom of every FAQ page.
I don’t think it’s strange that Toontrack isn’t sharing everything, speculating about future development. I am pretty sure they have learned a lesson in the past where plans couldn’t play out as intended and got flamed by users (this is me speculating, though).
When Toontrack know they can deliver something according to plan , they share it with their users. EZdrummer 3, for example. The opposite would be really bad, right?
They are still a relatively small company and as such have limited resources. But they do listen to users, so everything you guys have posted about what you would like to see in an eventual future version of EZkeys is surely read.

Thanked by: devonbiker and Raynaldo Martine“They are still a relatively small company and as such have limited resources.”
5M Annual Sales with 26 employee’s. While I don’t know if that is USD or Sweden currency, I would agree this is a much smaller company than I ever would have thought. I suspect they have the majority of staff with their heads in drums.
And regarding EZKeys not working. I just tried to open it and plain white screen only. Very unusual. I immediately rebooted and all was fine. Still very unusual.
EZkeys for me is a tool to get me to another plugin or as a backing track. I’m just starting with midi instruments and love SD3 and EZbass. But EZkeys isn’t at a level to be very useful. Learned Ana 2 which is far superior, but it won’t integrate with LPX in the AU version. Developers were responsive about ANA2 and appear to be working on it. If anyone has another alternative, it would be helpful until EZkeys gets a rework.
New EZKeys Rock Opera MIDI pack…. and you guys thought they forgot about EZKeys 😉

Thanked by: Joe BauerI think EZK is great how it is, it works, I use it all the time. There is one problem however. That is the timeline, all I ask is that be improved. To match the ecosystem of SD3 EzB. Tempo changes and time signature editing. All that it needs is an update one the song creator section.
perhaps another expansion idea would be a Hammond organ. IKMM has one, steinberg has the model C. And there are a handful of stand alone organ plugs.
toontrack takes such care in building instruments, I’m sure it would be awesome!
I’d like to see all the functionality of SD3 and EZbass in EZkeys. And for all of them to make it drag and drop from an LPX track to the EZ products.
Also, Similar GUI with resizable window. I use two screens.
Thanks,
Joe
What’s the story here – EZK definitely is look like the runt of the litter now … no audio tracker, etc… … the interface looks very dated compared to EZB & EZD … not nearly as intuitive. No whispers of an update coming down the line?
All the best.
Patrick.
This works so well for me– I can’t imagine doing my song writing without it.. I just start playing a song in LogicPro and have capture on — when I play something (adlib) that I like I simply have LogicPro capture what I played (after the fact) and it captures the midi and tempo. I record that into EZkeys and the chords are interpret (almost perfectly) for me and away I go into EZBass or Drums or add backing with BIAB by exporting those midi chords and importing into BIAB…
Ideally it would have the new look and feel of the recently releases to bass and drummer3 as an upgrade.
As far as new products go– guitar would be great
I’d like EZkeys to be able to update song variations from the Browser without it overwriting my Chords. The ability to compare song styles would be great.
