    Hi Scott,

Will there still be demos of New and older EZKeys expansion packs to try…ie: cinematic pads, electronic pop…

    Hi Scott,

I have no info on how demos will work moving forward.

I have no reason to believe the version 1 demos would be removed and I don’t have any knowledge of if/how future version 2 expansion demos will function.

    Hi Zedd,

if I understand your concerns right, I would say that any downloaded and installed libraries that can be read by EZkeys 1 now, will still be so if unlocked at a later stage.

The EZK libraries I have on my drive right now can be opened by both EZkeys 1 and 2. The EZkeys 2 core library cannot be read by EZkeys 1.
My EZkeys 1 Projects can be imported to EZkeys 2.

    John

    Hey John,

It becomes a matter of whether purchases of libraries after May 16th will included a serial number to unlock them in EZKeys 1, since I would assume that  EZKeys 1 and EZKeys 2 versions of the sound expansions will not share the same serial number.

The FAQ on the EZKeys 2 product page does make it clear that all current sound expansions will be removed and discontinued on May 16th and replaced by new versions of the same sound expansions in the new format… therefore installing any sound expansions into EZKeys 1, that we don’t currently have on our drives, will no longer be possible after May 16th.

This is remedied by grabbing the trial/demo versions of anything we may still might want to have in the original EZKeys 1 while we still can… but the question remains whether Toontrack will grant serial numbers upon request to authorize those demos in EZKeys 1, after May 16th, when we purchase the new version of that sound expansion for EZKeys 2?

Hi Zed, the serial numbers that you already have will work and the EKXs will load in EZkeys 1.

If you decide to not upgrade to EZkeys 2, you can still purchase legacy EZkeys instruments after May 16th and they will still work in EZkeys 1.

EKXs released after May 16th will not work in EZkeys 1.

    Thank you Petter,

When I upgrade what instrument will come with EZKeys 2, so that I can still use both versions?

The EZkeys 2 Core library is the Fazioli F212 Grand piano shown on the EZkeys 2 product page.

It is a new plug-in so it can co-exist alongside your EZkeys 1 plug-in. You can load the EZkeys 1 libraries you already own in EZkeys 2 and Import EZkeys 1 Projects into EZkeys 2.

Please see the product page for full info and the Q+A:

Will unregistered EXkeys 1 instrument expansion serial numbers still work after EZKeys 2 is released?

If you look up to @Petter’s response to @Zed, you will still be able to purchase and register expansions originally released for EZKeys 1. I see no reason why an expansion previously purchased but not yet registered would be a problem.

In other words… YES you should take advantage of this weekend’s EZKeys MIDI offering to add more content to either version of EZKeys!!

The Latin Pop pack is great and even better for $10!

I hope Toontrack has a deal on EZKeys expansions before the EZKeys 2 release… if they were to offer  2 for 1 piano expansions, I would pay $89 for 2 of the Upright Piano expansions. Since the new Core Library does not include an upright, I think this would be a swell deal for us and would probably be a profitable deal for them.

At least let’s continue with $10 EZKeys MIDI packs each weekend  until the release, please!!

In EZkeys 2 after I put a grove on the track I would like to be able to locate where I selected it from. If I go somewhere else to try a grove how do I find my place? In EZkeys 1 it is simple. Right click on grove and select show in browser.

    Thanks

It’s still the same… just right click on the MIDI and choose Find > Select Containing Folder in Grooves

I know that “right click Find > Select Containing Folder” in Grooves works while the MIDI is still in the grove section, but not after you drag it to the track.

I know that “right click Find > Select Containing Folder” in Grooves works while the MIDI is still in the grove section, but not after you drag it to the track.

Keep in mind that each block has 3 parts now in EZkeys2. Song Part, Chords, and MIDI. Each can be manipulated separately.

So, if you want to adjust/work with the MIDI, you need to select only the MIDI part of the block and the Find menu will be active.
