Could it just be as simple as no one is asking for it? Then let me be the first.

Tell us all please, that a EZKeys2 is on the drawing board and set for release in xxx/2016.

You know what I am asking for. Like you did with EZDrummer – EZDrummer2. Well, it doesn’t have to be that spectacular! But some thing to show commitment and maturity for this lovely program.

At a minimum can we at lease talk about it? This forum is soooo slow. Perhaps this could be a new level of life and pay off in dividends to the company bottom line.

Just route ezkeys to your favourite Hammond VSTi, or any other keyboard instrument. ToonTrack does not need to supply each and every keyboard plugin  out there.

Yes it looks like if you already have EZKeys 1 then you can get the pre-order upgrade to EZKeys 2 at a discount and download it when it’s released. If you don’t own EZKeys already then you are buying EZKeys 2, plus another existing EZKeys expansion, but you will get EZKeys 1 delivered today and can download EZKeys 2, when it’s released.

That’s the way I read it anyway.

You can’t purchase EZkeys2 until launch day (May 16). You can pre-order the upgrade OR purchase an EZkeys1 Instrument now until May 16 and get a free upgrade to EZkeys2.

Hey!!  So glad to finally see this is happening!  I’ve been waiting YEARS!!

Question:  Will EZ Keys 2 take over EZ Keys 1 or will we be able to still access EZ Keys 1 when we upgrade?  Reason I ask is there are so many new features in this and I like the idea of MIGRATING to a new version instead of getting a whole new learning curve thrown at me at once in order to even use the older features.

Hey John,

Since the Sound Expansions that now work in EZKeys 1 are being discontinued and replaced with a new format version compatible with EZKeys 2, I am wondering if a Sound Expansion (of the currently available pianos) purchased after May 16th might still have a serial number that could also allow it to authorize and unlock a trial version of the piano which we already have installed in EZKeys 1 so that we can still use it in both EZK1 and EZK2? No installer would be needed for that.

I understand the older format (i.e. current) installers will no longer be available, but if we already have the sample content installed, only a serial number should be needed to unlock it in the original EZKeys. If this is not provided with future Sound Expansion purchases, could it be provided upon request?

I have hundreds of projects which have EZkeys in them, so it would be nice to know that a purchase of any of the classic EZKeys pianos could still be unlocked and used within the original EZKeys whenever I load a project that is already using EZKeys.

Or is it a situation more like, “Buy the sound expansions now, or you will never be able to use them in the original EZKeys going forward!!” ?

There are a couple expansion that I don’t have which I would like to get working in both versions of EZKeys just for the ease of using them quickly in older projects where I don’t need EZKeys 2 features but may just want to change the piano expansion.

I would rather not be paying full price for 2 sound expansions this month (in addition to the EZKeys 2 pre-order), if it will be possible to wait for a sale on those sound expansions and still get the EZKeys 1 serial numbers.

Perhaps you could have a sale on them before May 16th if it is going to be an issue for some users?

That would be really helpful, indeed.
