Running Ezdrummer 3 on fully updated Windows 10 PC with Pro Tools 12.6
Have Alesis Strike Multipad MIDI connected via USB.
Works great with EZdrummer stand alone. Alesis connects to Ezdrummer and pads drive drums as expected. All functions work perfect.
Cannot get Alesis or any other USB external controller to connect with EZdrummer in Pro Tools 12.6
Pro Tools sees the external device and can record MIDI tracks but no response from EZDrummer.
Have tried multiple different Pro Tools MIDI configurations, NO JOY.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Hi,
I presume you have inserted EZdrummer 3 on a Stereo Instrument Track?
Is your MIDI controller visible in the Instrument Track’s MIDI Devices Input list at the top of the Mixer Channel (not visible by Default)?
Is the Track in Input Monitoring/Rec Enabled?

John

Thanks John, problem was I neglected to set “Default Thru Instrument” in Pro Tools “Preferences-MIDI” tab. Works fine now.
Again, thanks for reaching out.
