I have repeatedly loaded Ezdrummer2 onto Reaper and get a screen that states “EZdrummer is not authorized to run on this computer!” The screen (with “LITE EDITION” in the upper corner, although I did not buy the Lite Edition) also states, “To authorize, please follow these instructions:
Yet when I go to the Toontrack Product Manager I find that my computer IS authorized. I bought Ezdrummer through online download so I DO NOT HAVE A DVD-SLEEVE OR DVD-BOX to locate my serial number.
Thanks.
Hi,
you must have installed EZdrummer Lite previously and the .dll file is still on your system and loaded by Reaper.
If you launch the EZdrummer 2 standalone application, you will see that it opens as expected with the correct interface.
The default install path of the 64-bit plug-in on 64-bit Windows is:
C:\Program Files\VstPlugins\Toontrack
If you check Reaper’s Preferences > Plug-ins > VST, you see which path(s) are searched for VSTs and in one of these paths, the EZDrummer Lite .dll file is located, which can be deleted.
I am going to assume you are running Reaper 64-bit with bridging enabled, so I would recommend you turn this off in Preferences > Plug-ins > Compatibility by setting it to ‘native only’.
I think the fastest way to make sure you don’t have any remnant .dll file(s) on your system would be closing EZdrummer 2 and Reaper, perform a Search on your system for ‘ezdrummer*.dll’ and delete all entries that show up, then open the Toontrack Product Manager and re-run the EZdrummer 2.1.8 update.

Thanked by: Kurt StraughnThanks, John! That fixed it!
I was initially confused by your answer because I never loaded the Lite program. I think the problem was that the computer already had a DAW on it that included the Lite program. I would have never figured this out!
Much appreciated!
