I’ve installed EZD2 and the standalone player works great. I love the “Edit Play Style” screen that allows me to easily mofiy existing midi clips. My question is how do I bring up this same functionality for a clip that is already part of a track in Logic Pro X?
Sorry if this is a newbie question but I’m a bit lost…
Hi,
Logic’s one of the hosts that do not allow dragging from the timeline to the EZdrummer plugin. Please export to e.g. the Desktop and then import to EZdrummer 2.

If you can’t drag and drop MIDI from your host, there’s a trick to get MIDI from the host into EZdrummer 2.
Enable “Follow host” (the button beside the Song Creator button). Remove all MIDI from the song track in EZdrummer, then press the record button (below the track) in EZdrummer (now the record button should blink). As soon as you start playback in your host (with MIDI on the EZdrummer 2 track), EZdrummer 2 will record the notes being played from the hosts MIDI and voilà – you have the MIDI inside EZdrummer 2

Henrick, yes that works but for some reason it always misses recording the first beat. Any ideas? (Ableton) I just tried this in Logic which also misses recording the first beat.

I’m going to check it out! But in the meanwhile – try to start logics play back a bit before the first MIDI notes appear (e.g. don’t start to playback directly on the first MIDI note in Logic). Does this help?

When starting from bar 1, it does not record the first hit. Yes, starting playback a bar early works, but in Ableton this is very much a pain in the foot. You have to add measures to the beginning of the clip or bring it into Arrange. Unfortunately, Live does not allow drag and drop into EZ. You have to export. Hopefully this can be fixed..

Thanks for the reply, I will check out if this is a bug.
It’s unfortunate that some hosts don’t allow MIDI to be dragged out – we hope that they will fix this in future updates/releases.
