I read that this was possible using alt but all I get is the scissors cutting the block in half. Help! Cheers
Ctrl + alt is the shortcut for the scissor tool. Alt + drag should work. Is it possible that your ctrl button is enabled somehow, faulty keyboard etc?

Thanks Different KB no change. ctrl+Drag lets me drag and drop a copy but Alt has no effect at all. I take it you can’t grab the handle that appears at the right of the blog and drag that like you can in Reaper?
Ctrl+left click and drag copies a groove in the Song Track here on my Windows 8 laptop. Alt+left click cuts the groove using the scissor tool.

Scott is right, ctrl + drag is the copy keyboard shortcut.
If you mean a function that duplicates the selected block just by dragging its edge, then no – it’s not possible.
