Hello,
Is there a way ,in stand alone version, to have other outputs than outputs 1&2 of my fireface 800 soundcard ?
This is a video (in french) :

Hi,
sorry my French isn’t that good but what you need to do is open the Audio/MIDI Settings in the EZdrummer 2 Standalone and make sure that ‘Multi-Out’ is checked. Then you can assign the EZdrummer 2 outputs to your interface’s physical outputs.

Thanked by: ShootieThank you John !!
If i put my snare and the ouptput 2 in the ezdrummer mixer, why i can’t send it on a mono output of my soundcard please ? Indeed, in the audio setup of ezdrummer there is two output (L and R) for each output number sent by the ezdrummer mixer.
Look at my video here : https://youtu.be/AptMn1UjdSI
best regards
Hi,
again, my French is not very good and my wife (who speaks French fluently) wasn’t around at the moment but I am guessing you are wondering why the Snare comes on 2 channels, both 5 and 6 in your case?
EZdrummer 2 has 16 stereo outputs and while they can be split into mono in either a host (DAW) or (as in your case) a mixer software for the receiving hardware, you will have to pan the Snare according to my attached screen shot.
I hope this clarifies,
John

Hello John,
Thank you for your reply.
I understand what you say about the panning trick in the ezdrummer mixer but in the audio setting of the ezdrummer (standalone) the output 1 (for instance) take two output of my soundcard , even if i pan my snare on the left.
like that, each output of the ezdrummer mixer take 2 different outputs of my soundcard ! 🙁
Is it normal ?
Hi,
the short answer is: Yes, it is as expected.
The longer answer is: Each of the 16 EZdrummer 2 outputs are Stereo, which splits into 32 Mono. Why this is “hard-wired” into 16 Stereo outputs and not flexible is more or less because if you used a host and had the option to set the amount of Stereo and Mono outputs yourself, the host would need to be restarted och time you performed a change. With every expansion recorded in different ways in different studios with no microphone setup and effect channels the same, there would be a lot of restarting hosts if you wanted to try out different things (as in expansions or combinations) for your songs and needed to change the Stereo/Mono output setup constantly.
So when you route e.g. your EZdrummer 2 output to your audio interface, you are routing 1 Stereo/2 Mono outputs to it.
Exactly how that routing works is also dependent on your audio interface’s driver and mixer software.
In the screen shot I posted, I use my Apollo interface and I have it set up so that the first available stereo pair is going directly to my Monitor out, bypassing the interface mixer. I can also use my other separate physical outputs of the hardware and virtual outputs going to my Apollo mixer software before routed to the physical outs.
How all these outputs appear to my system, as in channel order and/or Stereo/Mono configuration, is set up in my driver settings and I imagine the above is about the same for your Fireface mixer.
I hope this clarifies,
John
