I’ve got a pretty weird problem that might not be TOTALLY with EZD 2, but definitely involves it: I have a Simmons SD5X e-drum kit that I like to use primarily as a controller into Garageband/Logic, but so far it’s only worked with my older iMac that’s running either Snow Leopard or Lion and only with Addictive Drums. More recently I got a new retina Macbook Pro that’s running the newest OS X and EZDrummer 2, but I can’t get the kit to work with that Macbook at all. I tried using the USB out from the module of the kit and then tried an EMU USB-to-MIDI cable “interface” and got nothing.
Is it the kit? Is it EZD? Can anyone help? Bueller?
Hi,
I would check for new USB drivers from the Manufacturer first.

I’m pretty sure Simmons has no drivers available. Is there anything else available that would work?
Hi,
in EZdrummer 2 standalone, can you select/check your MIDI interface under Audio/MIDI settings? If so, do you get any response when hitting the pads?
If so, select the ‘E-drums’ > ‘Other’ manufacturer in the EZdrummer 2 Menu.
