Hey I wonder if anyone can help,
I just bought EZDrummer and I installed everything and I have EZdrummer solo running fine.
However, when I want to use EZdrummer as a VST in Cubase 5, it doesnt appear in the list of VST’s!
I have saved the .dll file in EZD to Program files> Stienberg> Vst Plugins.
Can anyone help at all? Ive got loads of tracks with vst’s from Halion which I got with Cubase which I need to switch to EZdrummer!
Many thanks.
Simon.
Please fill in your system specs on your member profile page.
Please tell us if you are using 32-bit or 64-bit versions of EZdrummer and Cubase.

Well, Im really very new to all of this, so bare with me.
Im running on windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.
I am running Cubase 5 version 5.1.0 (I dont know how to check if it is 32 bit or 64 bit but i hope the vesrion helps)
And I have EZ drummer version 1.3.0 (which i think im right in thinking, its 32 bit?)
does that help at all?
any advice would be awesome
Knowing if Cubase is 32-bit or 64-bit is necessary. Where does the Cubase5.exe reside? Is it in the ‘Program Files’ folder or the ‘Program Files (x86)’ folder?
A guess from your first post would be it is located in the 64-bit location (Program Files) as you say you installed the ezdrummer.dll at ‘Program files> Stienberg> Vst Plugins’.
How have you installed EZdrummer? From a disc or from the full product download from your account? Have you installed any updates? What version number is shown at the bottom right corner of EZD in Solo?
If you have EZD/Solo working, what is the path location set to in Solo for EZdrummer? Check Options->Set Paths…

ah I see, Cubase is actually in the ‘Program files (x86)’ directory.
Apologies, I did actually mean to say that I installed EZD to program files (x86) > Steinberg> Vst Plugins
I installed EZdrummer buy purchasing the full download from the site. I have now updated with the latest update and I ran both installers, 32 bit and 64 as recommended.
In solo, it says im running version 1.3.1.
The path is set to Program Files(x86)> Toontrack> EZDrummer
I should point out, on first install of EZdrummer, it saved into ‘Program files(x86)> Toontrack’ (it created this file automatically)
I then copied all of the toontrack file, into the steinberg file for cubase.
I tried to follow some online steps and basically Im now worried I’ve made things more difficult than they needed to be.
Im sorry for sounding dumb, Im fine with using products, but setting them up really isnt my thing.
Copying the .dll to a different directory for the original install location isn’t a good idea. For example, if you run an update, the update will only affect the original file as it won’t know you copied the original.
The best course of action is to delete any copies you made so that you only have the original .dll in the Program Files(x86)> Toontrack> EZDrummer location. The path that currently works in Solo.
Next, you can set a path in Cubase to this location. Please check the link below to the FAQ on how to set the path to EZdrummer in Cubase (that location of the original .dll and not the copy you made…and have deleted ).

So, I deleted everything and uninstalled then re installed and went through what you said and it worked perfectly! Thank you so much.
