Ours is doing the same thing on the install. We can view the soft synth now of EZD but when it loads, 0MB, but if we open in toontrack solo, can see the drum rack and it uploads.

8.5pe, ezd with the upgrade patch to 64

Please make sure you indeed have the 64-bit version of EZdrummer loaded. Check the plugin interface (lower right) if the version number reads 1.2.1 (64-bit).
If it doesn’t, you are loading the 32-bit version which isn’t supported. Review your VST search path settings and remove the path/link to the 32-bit version and be sure to add the 64-bit version.

It isn’t necessary to delete the path to the 32 bit version.  It IS critical that you have a path in the VST Scan path to the 64-bit version of EZdrummer.  I have both 32 bit and 64 bit versions in their appropriate Program Files structures and they coexist quite well with SONAR.  I have 64 bit and 32 bit SONAR installations (for compatibility purposes with legacy projects with DX plugins) on my computer and SONAR never fails to properly choose the version it needs.

Weird, I can’t see a 64bit version of ezdrummer in my toontrack folder.

It’s installed in the programme files x86 or whatever it’s called in windows 7 but showing Sonar that path doesn’t bring the 64bit version up when I load it as a soft synth.

I’ve had a look inside the ezdrummer folders but no 64bit file.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Cheers!

Go to your My Products page on the main Toontrack.com site.  Download any updates from your downloads page.  You have to install the 64 bit version of EZdrummer and then use SONAR’s VST Scan preferences to browse to the 64 bit DLL location.  It will not be in the x86 Program Files tree.

This may help you, I had linked the VST plug in through the folder I had downloaded the info. downloads/tt106ezdrummerwin/…/toontrack/ezdrummer/ezdrummer.dll. The download is smart enought that it actually put the ezdrummer.dll in
c: programfilesx86/vstplugin/toontrack/ezdrummer.dll. When I used that as the VST it worked and now it uploads and we have sound. Thought I’d share what I found out.

Thanks for your help guys, I’ll give it a look later.

When I download the ‘new downloads’ from my product page, do I click save or open? Does it matter? I just clicked open and ran the 32bit installer then the 64bit installer.

    Cheers!

Great, got it all working thanks!

Just got to work out why it’s missing loads of hits from my midi map…

    But thanks again dudes!

Still having loads of trouble triggering all the instruments with my TD12 as the midi trigger. The bass and Snare sometimes hit ok but the cymbals are never triggered. I can see them being triggered but no sound!

    Weird…

Ok…figured this out and it was so simple I feel stupid for posting it on here!

I hadn’t waited long enough for it to load up completely!

So working great now! Except for the hi hat. I can’t get it to trigger closed, only open through my Roland VH-11 (TD12)

I know this is an old post but this definitely helped me out BIG TIME.

Up to now, they still don’t mention that the proper .dll file isn’t in the x86 programs folder.

Anyway, I added the vst folder under programs, and it’s all loaded up!

    Thanks again!
