Perhaps your song or new projects have a changed sample rate and that causes a conversion to take place on loading.
Not sure, but ive heard the lads mention this takes longer loading time .
Thats a nice amount of ram to play with.

    Hi,

are you sure you get a visual confirmation of the version number and (64-bit) in the plugin interface?

    Best Regards,
    John

Yes I am – Version 1.2.1 and it does state 64 bit. I am also loading Drumkit from Hell, should have mentioned that before. I thought this was odd, especially the loading time, as I can load up a kit in SD (using Metal Foundry with an Andy Sneap preset) in under 30 seconds.
    Thanks again!

    Is the dfh EZX updated?
At which sample rate are you working now?

    Hey there
I have updated everything to their latest versions and if I understand you correctly (sorry for my ignorance) the sample rate is 192000, up from the 44.1 that I was using before I upgraded to 64 bit: thanks again!

EZDrummer does not operate on-the-fly resampling but instead convert the entire set at load time. So yes, that would be expected. Either load the set in Superior, work at 44.1K, or bear with the loading time of course.

Figured it had something to do with that. Another question, is it normal for the bar at the bottom right corner (the one that shows how many samples have been loaded) to not be filled up completely – again, it loaded 741mb of samples, but the bar wasn’t completely filled up yet.

    Thanks again for the info!!!

the bar should fill up in full. To be honest 741MB for a kit at 192k is not very much, it should be roughly 4x bigger (4.35 to be more exact) than the same kit at 44.1k, and I believe that should put you close to the GB mark.

Does the kit load in full at 44.1k? If not then perhaps some samples on disk are corrupt, or an Anti-virus is being overly intrusive, which would explain your extended loading time compared to what I estimate your system to be capable of (certainly to load well under 10 minutes, even at 192k).

    Thanks for the hints Rogue.

My PC isn’t connected to the net, so I have all updates and virus software turned off. I just loaded the tune up at 44.1k and 24 bit, using EZDrummer and the DFH kit, the bar stopped (loaded fully) at 237mb, loaded up in about ten seconds. I then loaded the same song (which I have already converted into SD) using The Metal Foundry, full ‘Snotlip’ kit (with a few drum substitutions) at 192k, 64 bit, loaded 1374mb in about ten seconds as well, maybe quicker. Does this sample number seem proper at 64 bit? I know I’ve loaded up the Sneap preset pack, using the Exodus/Atrocity preset and I believe it was closer to 4100mb of samples (full kit).

    Thanks again…!

again Superior does not require resampling, and whether you load a kit in a 64bit environment or 32bit does not impact its size, only the project sample rate matters, and only in EZDrummer.

We have however, potentially, identified a bug in EZDrummer that may explain the bar not fully filled up symptoms that you reported. We’re looking into it, but it seems to be completely innocuous i.e solely a visual glitch.

Thanks Rogue… such a good forum here. I’ve never had a question go unanswered here.
