I’ve had EZDrummer for a couple of years and this one aspect drives me crazy! When I press play EZDrummer’s cursor is always exactly a half bar ahead of the Presonus Studio One cursor and actual audio playback. This means that when EZDrummer’s cursor is at Bar 1.3 then Studio One’s cursor and audio playback are only at 1. Similarly, when EZDrummer’s cursor gets to Bar 2 then Studio One’s cursor and audio playback are a half bar back, half way between Bar 1 and 2. This makes it really hard to edit drums because I have to account for a half bar offset between the EZDrummer cursor and the Studio One cursor (and audio playback). I’ve tried all sorts of fixes for this but nothing works. Any help is appreciated!
Are you using any latency inducing plugins or anything that’s kicking in delay compensation?

Good question. I am not using any plugins on the EZDrummer track that would cause latency. I am using a decent number of plugins on other tracks though. I’ve been wondering if it could be a playback latency or delay compensation issue? I notice that when I press play on Studio One that the EZDrummer cursor starts moving, but the Studio One cursor waits a half a bar to start moving.
Switch off every plugin. Run a song, switching one back on at a time. See which of them bring latency.
I’d suggest that since you’re editing your drum MIDI in Studio One, don’t bother trying to find any offending plugins. Delay compensation is working as it should: advancing the MIDI to grab the audio data for processing and play in time together. I have a few timeline based plugins other than TT that show the same thing.

Thanked by: BradThanks All. Great tips. I had been hoping there would be a simple setting somewhere to make the cursors line up between Studio One and EZDrummer during playback, but it seems it is much more complicated. I wish there were a setting that would allow me to adjust this.
Only settings are either turn off delay compensation and listen to the audio mess, or turn off your plugins while recording.
This is a characteristic of all major DAWs in relation to software instruments.
