In EZ 2 you could right click on each drum to see the corresponding midi key and each articulation. I didn’t see that in EZ3. Where can I find the mapping for the new kits?

Hi John, many thanks for your help. I will try this out. But just to mention, this happens only with the new EZ Drummer 3 library. When I load superior Drummer this does not happen.
Agreed, it’s ridiculous that I need to have an EZD2 plugin running in parallel with the one for EZD3 just so I can audition the articulations, how did this one get through software QA Toontrack?
Yeah, agree with y’all who think it should be as easily accessible as in EZD 2! Would be great if this could be changed.
Thanks!
not sure if this is from a new update, but I see the mappings in EZD3, just not in the same place. It actually seems better to me.
Select an instrument, right-click, and select “show midi mapping layout”. Even better, at the top of the resulting popup window, select the instrument pulldown, and check “highlight played instrument”. There’s also an option to print the layout. If you change to a different library, the popup changes automatically
one last thing I noticed – if you use eDrum midi to create a custom midi assignment layout, the popup window populates with the custom assignments. Better than a PDF of only the factory defaults in my mind.
So I have an Alesis Nitro. Midi note 41 is Floor Tom 3, so you can have 6 toms. I can do it in the nitro module, and tune each drum in fourths with a little bit of effort
That last one I mapped to the Rimshot on Floor Tom 2 on EZdrummer. I can play with the tuning on the main screen, however, when I hit the rimshot mapped to 41 (6 above) I don’t have the option to move that tuning separate from Floor Tom 2 (5 above). I just want to tune midi note 41 to F# – how do I do it? ( I was able to tweak 1-5 half a note here or there so for 50 48 47 45 and 43, these are perfect 4ths)
I think I answered my own question. I created a EZdrummer midi track in logic, eliminated all the set pieces except the rim shot on the floor tom and tied the rim shot to 41 and tuned it to the right spot. On the first track, I eliminated the rim shot 41 as an input effectively muting it. Saved both separately to files and now can load them in as needed together. Now I can play “in the air tonight” through the EZdrummer plug in (and it’s associated samples) and record that 6th tom.
I’ll stand with everybody that wants articulations back. I’d like to set the hi hat to be always open.
Is there a way to map ezdrummer3 midi map to correspond to that of logic? I have some logic drummer midi that I would like to utilize with the ezdrummer3 sounds as they’re much better. Any help is appreciated!

EZdrummer version: 3.0.6
Operating system: macOS Sonoma (14)
Ask and you shall receive…
Unzip the file and drop it in the path:
/Users/yourusername/Library/Application Support/Toontrack/EZdrummer 3/EdrumPresets
You will then be able to use EZDrummer with Logic’s Drummer. If you have Logic 10.8.x, you can drop a Drummer region directly on to your instrument track with EZDrummer on it.
Have fun.

Thanked by: Ivan and BradSo once I unzip and place the file in the correct spot, all I need to do is select it under presets under the e-drums/midi tab in ezdrummer3?

Also, I didn’t see an “EDrum Preset” folder. My only options are “Presets” and “EZxPresets”. Thoughts?
Edit: Nevermind, did a refresh and then it was there lol…
Have you had luck with this working for most ezx sound expansions? I appreciate the help so much!
I use Drummer with a bunch of EZXs without issue. My current favourite is the Michael Ilbert Signature series. I use this in combination with a template in Logic in which I can simply record a guitar track and Logic will map the tempo to which I can attach EZD to it through Drummer regions. I can then have drummer follow my guitar track.
