    Hi,

it’s a bit tricky to tell without seeing the Session. I haven’t experienced this myself; I work with PT Ultimate daily and frequently use all Toontrack plug-ins. I am on macOS, though.

Is it possible for you to zip archive the .ptx and attach to a post here?

Thanks; well, it’s unreleased music, I can’t really do that; and I suspect it’s a Pro Tools issue, but posting here as well in case others are seeing same issue.

Some things I’ve tried thus far:

    • Trashing Pro Tools preferences; problem still there
    • I created a new session, added a couple audio tracks, and added an EZdrummer part; this session played back fine, no issues
    • I created a new session, and did Import Session Data from the problematic session, importing everything; this didn’t help, the problem still persisted in the new session

Again, this is a playback issue (thus far)… EZdrummer part playback is delayed, by maybe as much as an eighth, or quarter note (not exactly; just a large amount)

    OK,

two things that may be obvious but I still have to ask:

    • have you checked the track’s MIDI Real-Time Properties if there’s an active Delay on the Track and/or clips?
    • have you tried de-activating plug-ins in the audio path to see if it could be a problem with latency inducing plug-ins?

    BR,
    John

    I did check MIDI Real-Time properties, no issue there; hadn’t yet tried de-activating plug-ins;

However, I just did a Save As… and no change.
But I did a Save Copy In… (without copying any audio/data or new location; the session file saved right in the same folder, like a Save As…) …and the issue now appears to be resolved.

Here’s my thread in the DUC (and there were several others, similar, which I noted) in case it helps others

    Hi Mike

For me it started in Pro Tools 2024.3.1 Ultimate HDX – Superior Drummer 3 is lagging, when I turn of AutoTune Pro on the lead vocal it becomes better, but on my safety partion Pro Tools 2024.3.0 does not have the problem, neither does Pro Tools 2023.12.1 and Pro Tools 2023.12.

I guess it has to do with all these new midi functions in Pro Tools 2024.3.1  ?

    kind regards Lars

    Thanks Lars-

From reading the DUC (Avid user group), this is now a known issue being worked on at Avid (unfortunately not in time for the recent 2024.6 update.)

Pro Tools® 2023.12.1 is the most recent version unaffected by this issue, according to those discussions…
