I have tried everything I know to fix this problem. Uninstalled and reinstalled reaper and ezdrummer2 with no luck.
My problem is, EZDrummer 2 will work stand alone, but it won’t produce any sound in Reaper. It loads up in Reaper, but the samples won’t play, I can’t click on the drums and make any noise. When I play the sample, the bar just immediately goes to the right like there is nothing to play.
I’m running the newest version of Reaper, and I’ve done both updates on EZDrummer. Running on Windows 7 64 bit.
When I go into the Toontrack folder, the only thing in there is this, and that seems weird to me – https://gyazo.com/2eb437396f01faa100b639e6e87f034a
And this is the only thing in my VST folder – https://gyazo.com/71718eacc6a44a1bb17857f700f02cf1
Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi,
the paths in your screen shots both point to 32-bit locations, i.e. the 32-bit standalone application and the 32-bit version of the plugin.
On my Windows 7 installation, the sounds (EZX:s) and MIDI is located in my 32-bit path (‘C:Program Files (x86)’) so that both 32-bit and 64-bit versions may access it.
Your screen shot clearly tells that your sounds and MIDI aren’t located there, so my guess would be that they are installed in the 64-bit path (‘C:Program Files’).
If you are running Reaper in 64-bit and letting it wrap the 32-bit version of the plugin it’s bad x2, since wrapping of the plugin isn’t supported (may not function properly) and also because the 32-bit plugin can’t access the 64-bit repository.
I would recommend you uninstall EZdrummer 2 and any EZX:s, re-install and make sure the sounds are installed in the 32-bit path and then make sure Reaper finds and loads the correct version of the plugin. If you run the 32-bit version of Reaper, then it’s correct to load the 32-bit version of the plugin but it still needs to be able to access the sounds.

Thanks for the reply! Ok so I’m going to just install both reaper and ezdrummer 2 in 32 bit format, in the program files (x86) will that work?
John,
I installed ezdrummer 2 32 bit into program files (x86) like you suggested. This is still the only thing in the folder:
https://gyazo.com/e0f5331d2e6712e2a85ba90f57a9fd54
I also see this in program files (x86) vst plugins:
https://gyazo.com/27b35e43ddc5ee678c3f29edf2801e0c
I don’t see any sound or midi files anywhere. In the 64 bit program files, there are no folders for Toontrack or EZDrummer.
It’s also still not working in the freshly installed Reaper 32 bit. and it seems to come up as 64 on reaper? but when I got to ezdrummer it says 32:

Hi,
sorry for the delay.
Did you first re-install from the Full Download Installer version 2.0.2 and then run the 2.1.1 update?
Does the 32-bit application run in standalone? If so, does it display the grooves in the Browser? Do you get sound from the 32-bit standalone?
If you perform a Search on your system drive for ‘ezdrummer.dll’ how many entries show up and where are they located?
Can you please post a screen shot of the VST plugins preference tab in Reaper Preferences?
If you check your ‘C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesToontrackEZDrummer’ folder, I believe you will find your Sounds and MIDI located there.
They are only located in the ‘C:Program Files (x86)ToontrackEZDrummer’ folder if you have migrated from EZdrummer 1.

Thanks for replying, no worries on the wait. I’m just frustrated with this as you can imagine lol I just want to get it to work.
Yes I reinstalled the 32 bit version from the download link here – https://gyazo.com/c933a892c9dad5ce4a1e4d57886a37b5
After installing, I installed both updates from there as well.
The standalone does work, all the sounds work. This is what the browser tab looks like – https://gyazo.com/0bc54ff8e81d5461e897f542ed9f787a
ezdrummer.dll shows up in the folder ‘vst plugins’ as shown here, but theres also another toontrack folder within vst plugins that has another ezdrummer.dll in it as well

One of your pics shows EZD2 opened in Reaper as a bridged plugin. So, are you using the 64-bit Reaper and the 32-bit EZD2? Have you installed the 64-bit EZD2 and set the path to that 64-bit version in 64-bit Reaper?

Where does it say bridged Scott? Both the programs I installed are 32 bit versions of the program so I don’t know why it would say that
