Hi there
Every time I run EZDrummer I got this error “ezdrummer 2 mismatch of version between database and plugin” and the Song Creator option is grey so I cant use it.
I read in the forums about rename the Database folder but didnt solve the problem.
I am running a Mac (10.12) and EZdrummer 2 and Toomtrack Product Manager both say everything is up-to-date.
I have to say that in the past EZDrummer worked in this mac. I un-installed sometime ago, and I re-install it recently and now I am getting this error.
Any help?
thanks
Hi,
please select Advanced > Restore Factory MIDI Database in the EZdrummer 2 Menu and re-install the latest update.

Hi John
The option Restore Factory MIDI Database inside Advanced is also in grey so it is not available.
Please uninstall EZdrummer 2 via PM and then re-install.
Personally, I would reboot in between uninstalling and re-installing.

Fixed!! Not in the most techy way but the old un-install/re-install trick still works 😀
thanks John
I have a similar problem, i purchased EZdrummer 2 with 2 EZX packs, and it worked fine at first, i could use the song creator, just fine but the next day and now i can’t use it and when i open Ezdrummer in my DAW (cubase LE elements 8) it says i need to update which i did and also says some midi packs won’t work, yet it works fine as a stand alone app, but not in my DAW yet it did the previous evening. i’ve uninstalled it twice now and reinstalled it, and still the same problem.
Its all up to date aswell, even says up to date in the product manager.
Windows 7 64 bit
Cubase Le elements 8
Focusrite scarlett 2i2
any tips?
Its probably the simplest solution but yet i am a simpleton!

Hi,
since you have one plugin interface showing version 2.1.4 and another screen shot showing version 2.0.2, I would guess you have manually moved or copied the .dll file post install and that’s why you are having problems, since the Product Manager can’t know that. It updates the components that are in place according to installer logs.
What I would do is simply to perform a Search on your System drive for ‘ezdrummer.dll’ and delete all instances that show up.
Then I would re-run the latest EZdrummer 2 update and instead of moving the .dll file, make sure that Cubase picks up the correct .dll in its VST Search path.
