    Hi,

which version number is displayed in the EZdrummer 2 plugin interface?
Which exact PT 10 version are you using?

    I’m using PT 10.3.9 and EZD2 2.1.1 (32 bit).
    I also attached a screenshot.

    OK,

please create a Stereo Instrument Track and insert EZdrummer 2 there.
You are not supposed to insert it on Audio Tracks.

It still hovers at 20% CPU…is this normal??

And I just got the 9128 error (just on playback).

    OK,

first I need to know what your Playback Engine settings are? @ which sample rate are you working?
Out of curiosity, do you notice any difference in CPU consumption if you select e.g. one of the Audio Tracks (I can see the Instrument Track is selected in your screen shot) and play back the Session?

    Hello John,
I included screenshots of EZD2 with on an instrument track and sample rate of 128 and also 1024.
At 128 the CPU is 20% and at 1024 it’s 12%, and this is while idle.

I included a third screenshot of the instrument track inactive and only an audio track active. The CPU is at 1% with the sample rate of 128.

Do you get a CPU overload when you select another kit in EZD2 or another preset? ( It is always ‘dirty rock’ in the screenshot)

Mac Studio M1 Max, RAM 64 GB, 1TB Drive, OSX 12.x/13.x and Windows 10 (VM)
DAW: Studio One Pro (always up to date)
DTX Express III (Extreme triggers), Nektar LX88
    OWC Thunderbay Mini (4 X 1TB Sata SSD), Express 4M2 (4 X 2TB M.2 SSD), Envoy Express (1TB M.2 SSD)
Presonus Quantum, Faderport & Faderport 8
    Black Lion Sparrow Mk2 A/D, FMR-RNP-RNC, MIDI Xpress 128, BM5A, KRK VXT4, Equator D5
    2020 Macbook Pro 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD Audio(mobile rig)

I wish it was that easy…this occurs on all kits and presets.

I’m surprised that I haven’t been advised to reinstall EZD2.

Please go ahead and run the 2.1.1 update again. After that, please open Pro Tools and start a new Session and add a Stereo Instrument Track with EZdrummer 2 and see if there’s any change.

There ‘s no change after running the update again.
The CPU usage is still running 18-20%.
