Hello, I use the Metalheads plugin with 2 kick drums. At the beginning I can assign both kick drums, i.e. Kick1 and Kick2 and strike them separately. When I then save, it doesn’t matter which one I play, both kick drums are always played alternately. So if I only play Kick2 for example, he always switches back and forth between Kick1 and Kick2 starting with Kick1. The “error” occurred several times, but was gone again after the restart of EZD3. Now I have the problem permanently and can no longer use the EZD3, because the velocity no longer fits. It remains the same if I leave my two sound modules switched off, i.e. tap a kick drum directly in the software. I have already uninstalled everything and installed it again, unfortunately without success. Nothing has been changed in the setup. Thank you in advance for your help!
What do you want to happen?
How are you “striking” the kick drum? Clicking? Using an ekit or controller? Midi File?
If you’re programming or using midi Grooves, you make the corrections on the Grid Editor Tab.
There are some options, but I am not sure exactly what your endgame is.

I want that when I kick Bassdrum1 Kick1 is triggered and when I kick Bassdrum2 Kick2 is triggered. I can also click on Kick1 with the mouse and it switches between Kick1 and Kick2 in and back. I use 2 sound modules on a large e-drum. But even if these are not connected to EZD3, the same thing happens.
The alternate kicks for clicking is the default behavior. Not sure why you need it, but I think you’re stuck with that unless you unload one of the kick drums. I assume the Toontrackians will correct me if I’m wrong.
I also assume your triggers from your ekits are mapped correctly, so there’s no problem there?
I’m not positive why you mentioned velocity.

It works correctly until I save, only then do I have the misbehavior. The triggers are correctly adjusted, it worked for a short year before.
It’s also a bit difficult to explain. I have 2 bass drumtiggers (double bass), I only play bass drum1 on my drum kit, then only Kick1 triggers in EZD3 until I save, then suddenly Kick2 triggers every 2nd beat.
“I only play bass drum1 on my drum kit”. If you don’t use Kick 2, select it and select None. If you need Kick 2, why?

Thank you for your support! I found the problem. In the screenshot I have transferred an older working project file and a new one which no longer works. The “Metalheads” plugin and the other bass drum are not saved. I can’t say why yet…
Hi,
Is it the left project in the image that does not work?
It’s supposed to say USER_STEREO in the save file only if you have loaded your own audio file on the instrument.
Can you reproduce this issue in a new instance? If so, exactly how? Did you select “None” for the left or right kick?

Actually, it is not meant to be possible to turn off the alternating of the kicks in a library that has that and be able to trigger them separately, except by going to Settings > Advanced and changing Hit Variation to Low (but that changes some other things too). In SD3 it can be done. Why it works in an older project could be because it was saved with Hit Variation Low or maybe it was saved in a certain way because of a bug that was fixed in 3.1.0: “Replacing an instrument using alternating hit patterns with a different one could make unexpected articulations be used.”
