In a youtube video, I saw another vst program publicizing the doubling of shaker patterns panned hard left/right (with slightly different samples and midi).
I wondered, I cannot do in EZdrummer 3, since shakers are only in the first slot, I cannot load wooden maraca and pan right and rawhide maracas pan left. Tambourines can be done, because they are in slot 2 but also duplicated in slot 3.
While we might ask Toontrack to duplicate shakers as well, I found a solution: I have 2 EZXs, Latin Percussion and Hip Hop, that do have shakers and tambourines (and much more) in the main instruments mapped for instance to C2-E2 notes, with various articulations, visibile now in the grid editor. These can double the shakers and tambourines in the 3 slots!
So I suggest you, if you are interested in a deep high percussion programming, to purchase Latin Percussion (or Hip Hop) EZXs now currently on sale.
I am not affiliated with Toontrack, these EZXs can also exchange shakers and tambourines as main instruments, since they are in the same category. When doing Hip Hop, the 3 slots will give you doubling of the high percussions. When doing soft ’80s pop, the Latin Percussion, in a separate EZdrummer instance, will give you not only high percussion doubling, but also congas, timbales, bongos that provide a sophisticated accompaniment to your soft pop track superimposed to a normal drum in a separate EZdrummer instance.
If you already have these EZXs, as I have, enjoy panning the same or a similar pattern hard right/left (make it different with the grid editor, and save it to user midi by dragging from the song track).
I just found this and I wanted to share.
