I did try just asking about this. I assume no response means this is a limited tool.
The Pencil tool seems only capable of adding the same standard style Groove when clicking. And removing a Groove when double clicking. Anything else? It being able to click and drag and fill gap in the Song Track quickly is a great idea, but pointless if you can’t decide what Groove to load into it.
I think one of two things should happen with the Pencil Tool on the Song Track.
1. Eliminate the Pencil Tool. It leaves a negative impression when you toy with it. It only has one trick that no one will ever use once they realize it is limited to one single Groove. Time has been invested, results disappointing. Bad impression on EZD3.
2. Upgrade the Pencil Tool so you can load whatever Groove you want into it. Left click once on any Groove in the Search Result Area, any Midi Drop Zone, Bandmate Results, Song Creator Results, a Groove already in the Song Track, and any place you can access an individual Groove. Once you click on any Groove anywhere once, the Pencil Tool remembers it and will paint it in. Now once can loop quickly, draw a fill in anywhere, fill in gaps, and maybe even more. It would go from pointless to power feature.
If I missed something, my apologies. If I didn’t, I think you should pick 1 or 2.
