Ezd3: Drum pads being affected by aftertouch

On both my mpd218 and maschine mk3 I have a hard timing recording performances. Cymbals are choking semi-consistently and also when a hi-hat follows a cymbal that too will mute the crash mid ring.

Any options here?

Did you check your mapping to make sure your not sending a Mute Hit note? If you send a Mute Hit note below 100% velocity, it will not mute right away, which seems what you’re describing.

No, seems Im hitting the correct one. When I play around on the standalone mode it seems to function pretty cleanly except for the odd mute every once in an odd while(most likely to lingering on the pad for just a bit too long). But when in DAW it’s being much more of a nuisance. Perhaps I should play with my buffer size to see if it makes a difference.

I just figured that like in SD3 there would be some option somewhere to disable aftertouch. Couldn’t find anything in the menus nor have I seen any mentions online about aftertouch options in ezd 3.

It seems your hardware might be sending the aftertouch message, I could only recommend to double check. If you have to disable it in Superior for the same reason, then it doesn’t seem the issue is in the software.

As far as  the Maschine controller goes, you can go into the NI’s controller editor app and remove aftertouch from the pads you are not using them on. I only use it for certain cymbals on my Maschine controller. You can also adjust the sensitivity of the pad.

Oh my! I could get totally lost in that!

I have two aftertouch midi controllers, and I use Studio One on windows. There is an option in the host to turn it off. Seems it would be a good feature request to have this in the plug (I don’t have SD3 installed so I don’t remember it having that, though it probably does)
