Hi, I’m a newbie, using EZD3 with Ableton Live 12 Intro, just creating/editing drum tracks using the grid editor, then copying them into my DAW.
My projects so far haven’t needed any particular dynamics – just pop/rock drums, the same volume all the way through.
For my next project I want loud drums for the intro & guitar solo, but quieter drums for the verses.
How do I do that?
Thanks
Click or drag to highlight the beats you want to make louder or softer. Drag, up or down, the tops of the stalks as shown in my screenshot.

Thanked by: Chubster_1For quick adjustments of loud and quiet parts you can use Edit Play Styles to select your kit pieces and adjust the velocity. For crescendos and decrescendos you there is a tool in the grid editor.

The crescendo took is on the grid editor tab. It looks like a sawtooth.

Thanked by: Chubster_1Yep that’s them. Click and drag to adjust the slope of the crescendo/decrescendo. Edit Play Styles is my usual go to for quick and dirty adjustments. I’ll use the Grid Editor for finer adjustments. As always YMMV.
