Hi, I’m a newbie, using EZD3 with Ableton Live 12 Intro, just creating/editing drum tracks using the grid editor, then copying them into my DAW.
My projects so far haven’t needed any particular dynamics – just pop/rock drums, the same volume all the way through.
For my next project I want loud drums for the intro & guitar solo, but quieter drums for the verses.
How do I do that?

Click or drag to highlight the beats you want to make louder or softer. Drag, up or down, the tops of the stalks as shown in my screenshot.

Thanked by: Chubster_1For quick adjustments of loud and quiet parts you can use Edit Play Styles to select your kit pieces and adjust the velocity. For crescendos and decrescendos you there is a tool in the grid editor.

The crescendo took is on the grid editor tab. It looks like a sawtooth.

Thanked by: Chubster_1Yep that’s them. Click and drag to adjust the slope of the crescendo/decrescendo. Edit Play Styles is my usual go to for quick and dirty adjustments. I’ll use the Grid Editor for finer adjustments. As always YMMV.
