When I open an existing Logic project the EZD instrument isn’t active. I have to click on the green button with the EZD name in the channel strip then get a “plug-ins load as needed” message. Once I click OK it loads with no problem. Anyone else have this annoying problem? Is there a way to have EZD active when I open the project without the extra steps?
It’s not a problem per se. Logic’s default behaviour is to not load plugin resources on empty tracks (which technically is what EZ Drummer’s instrument track is if you’re using its timeline). While you can disable this in the preferences, the easiest remedy is to put an empty MIDI region on Logic’s instrument track that contains EZ Drummer.

Thanked by: JohnOne thing I do is create templates with all of my ToonTrack set up and have the empty regions on those instrument tracks. My audio and bus/aux tracks (and other instrument tracks that I play on) are also set up with plugins and remain empty so that once I start recording, the plugin resources will automatically load in. This way, I am closer to mixing.
