    Hi Chris,

I tried myself in both Reaper and Ableton Live Lite in Windows 11 and macOS 12.6.1 and got the same result as you. I have alerted my colleagues, so if we are doing something wrong, they will enlighten us.

Glad it wasn’t just us. Thanks for double-checking on that! Saved me the hassle of an install/uninstall of Cubase.

The workaround we’re using is to save the kit and zip/transfer it along with the Reaper project. Then we just have two separate instances of EZD3, one instanced from Windows, one instanced from MacOS but both using the same ezd3p file to setup the kit, mixer and MIDI input mapping. Yes, a pain but at least it’s not a show-stopper.

I hope a fix for this will be in the next EZD3 update. Until the, at least there is a workaround.

Yes, saving the EZdrummer 3 Project file saves everything in the plug-in, not just the kit so that’s the best workaround, since it can be opened cross-platform.

Version 3.0.6 is out so I installed it as well as the most current Reaper. Same issue. VST created in the opposite O.S. is disabled when loaded.

Maybe this will get fixed on the next update.

Hi, Same issue here, trying to import my Windows 10 files to Mac (Ventura 13) in Cubase 12 Pro. Importing projekt (as mentioned as a workaround) seems fine, but….I have edited the drums by having them in separate tracks/outputs (with plugins on each drum) and that totally goes away when loading the projectfile.

I am not sure if this is a Toontrack or Cubase “feature”, but it is a big problem for me, since my coworker is still on Windows and is not planning to change to Mac. I assumed this should be working…bummer. The only workaround I can think of is to render the drums in Windows….but that is far from an optimal solution. Other suggestions??

    BR

It’s been a while since I’ve used Cubase because it was always throwing up obstacles when I’d try to do my most common (and sometimes simple) tasks I perform regularly in Pro Tools but I do have Cubase 12 Pro as well. If EZD3 is on its own track and you route the plugins outputs to separate aux tracks for snare, kick, etc., there might be a way to route both the Win plugins separate outs as well as the Mac plugins separate outs to the aux tracks for snare, kick, etc. In Pro Tools, I would simply make a bus for each separate drum so I could output both Win and Mac EZD3 snare outputs to that bus. Then I set the Snare’s aux track input to that bus so it can receive from either Win or Mac instance/track of EZD3’s snare outputs.

That’s how I’d do it in Pro Tools or Reaper. Cubase must have something similar.

Thanks!! I got the the transfer of the project file from Win to Mac to work, but I have not managed to map the multitrack outputs from the Mac yet. But I will give your bus-idea a go, it sounds like a good way to do it!

I forgot to mention that the same “feature” is valid for EXBass, so it is a generic Toontrack thing.  I really hope they will fix this!

I värsta fall får jag väl åka till Umeå och bjuda på fika, så det blir gjort:-)! Sorry, a little Swedish comment….

Unfortunately, we would not be able to fix this without breaking all user projects on one of the platforms. 🙁

“Only” EZD3 and EZbass have this issue, not SD3 and Audio Sender.

Hey Tony, sorry that this issue is affecting your workflow with your coworker. I noticed that you mentioned EZbass. I just wanted to note that the issue is only in the VST3 version of EZbass, not in the VST2 plug-in. So you could avoid having to send .ezbp files to eachother by using the VST2 plug-in instead. (This is unfortunately not a workaround that works for EZdrummer 3.)

If you are on an Apple Silicon mac, you would then need to run Cubase in Rosetta (right-click Cubase.app > Get info > Open using Rosetta)

Just want to add as another data point, that I have the same issue using Studio One 5 or 6. Transferring sessions from Windows 10 PC to Mac 12.5, Studio One says the EZ Drummer 3 plugin is missing even though it’s installed and can be instantiated manually. I’ll try importing the project as was mentioned.

Very sorry to hear this. Is there any hope on the horizon for resolution of this issue, or pretty much won’t be fixed until EZD4 or some major update? Can you guys release some alternative download for the Mac/Win cross-platform folks with the fix so the others are not disturbed?

This is a pretty big issue especially for collaboration between users who won’t all be using PC or Mac. I use a macbook for on the move & a self built PC to do the heavy lifting & often move projects between them.

There’s definitely no fix in the horizon? I’ve that’s the case I may as much as I love EZD3, have to switch to another drum plugin. I have IK Modo drums but I do much prefer using EZD3.

We are considering an opt-in solution for this issue for a future update of EZD3 (and EZbass).

    Hello,

This is an old post but I have the same issue.

I bought Ez Bundle including Ezdrummer and Ezkeys.

I use mainly Windows 10 with Reaper and all works very well.

Recently I bought a Macbook Air M1 with OS 13 Ventura and all the VST plugins is working very well EXCEPT
the setup file of Ezkeys and Ezdrummer. Even if I save a file from Ezdrummer 3 or Ezkeys 2 in a different direcory,
it do not remember the path.

I had to flush the old Ez plugin and add a new one and load the file each time on my Mac.
    not very convenient.

I read in posts above that a workaround is to use VST2 instead of VST3.

I will try that with Ezkeys 2.

But for Ezdrummer I also read that is no workaround for this issue.

Anyway, I tried to change the path in the preference of Ezdrummer 3 where to search for the files
on my macbook and it’s not working. It always goes for  the directory that I have on windows and not mac.

Is there a new version coming to remedy this issue?

I bought the Eastwest bundle Composer Cloud+ and all is working perfectly between windows and mac but not Toontrack.

    Thank you

When I add EZD3 to a Reaper project in Windows, the plugin can not be opened when I switch into MacOS. If I add EZD3 to a Reaper project while in MacOS, the plugin is not openable when I switch to Windows. So the plugin instance can only be opened when on the same platform it was instanced on (windows to windows, mac to mac). I’m using Windows 10 and 11, MacOS Big Sur and Reaper 6.70 along with EZD3, latest version as of this moment.

When I try the same thing using Pro Tools 2022.10 with the AAX version of EZD3, no problems. I can open the plugin from either Windows or MacOS and it doesn’t matter what I was running when I added the instance to the test session.

Is it a VST3 issue or is it specific to Reaper? I don’t have Cubase installed on Windows (no hard drive space left) so I can’t check the VST3 of EZD3 in Cubase.

Sorry it’s not Ezkeys but Ezbass…
