Hi.
After loving the EZD2 demo, I just purchased EZD2 (upgrade from EZD1 Lite) as well as 4 EZX packs. I eagerly installed all the software this evening (Mac OS 10.8.5), restarted and opened GarageBand to be greeted with a warning that the EZD plugin could not be found. I tried to reload it, but only the DEMO showed up. I used the demo uninstaller, reinstalled EZD2, the EZD2 update and the EZD2 midi update, along with all the EZX pack updates and *still* get the error message when launching GarageBand. Trying to start a new project, EZD2 is still unavailable.
I’ve restarted, run Disk Utility, repaired permissions, etc. all to no avail. I checked to ensure that the various components are in their proper places within the Library folder at the root level of my startup volume and they are.
What should I try? What procedures should I go through to get EZD2 to work with GarageBand? Please help!
Thanks.
1. Try to locate the path where the new ezdrummer2 vst has been placed during installation.
2. Check if GarageBand is expecting vst plugins in that folder.

Hi.
1. I did check and all the EZD2 files are where they should be.
2. Not sure how I can check if GB is expecting VST plugins in the location they’re in, but I do know that everything worked fine with the demo, (which placed all support files in the same locations).
Any more suggestions?
Hi Mr. Ames,
GB does not load VST plugins but AU Components.
The correct location for the AU would be ‘Mac HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components’ and the default location for the EZdrummer folder (containing all EZX:s and MIDI) would be ‘Mac HD/Library/Application Support’.
But this should all be installed correctly without any user intervention.
GB does, however, use the AU cache like Logic, so please see this FAQ to see if the info will help you:

Hey, John.
Thanks for your advice. I actually sent in a support ticket and the response I got was very much in line with your suggestions, only specific to GarageBand. Deleting the GB cache files did the trick.
My only problem now is that I’m pushing GB (6.0.5) to its limits, so I think it’s time to upgrade to Mac OS 10.9 and GB 10 (64 bit) so I won’t run into the dreaded “You are running too many tracks and virtual instruments.” message.
Thanks again.
