    Hi,

it sounds as if you should have sound; is the ‘Instrument’ part of the Instrument Track visible so you can see the MIDI routing for that particular Track?
You can always zip the Session and attach it here, if you want me to take a look at it.
Can you trigger any other software instrument on the same track with your E-drums?

Yes the instrument is part of the instrument track and I do have sound, I just can’t activate it with the edrums.
Where can I send the session to you?

Can you insert any other Virtual Instrument on the same Instrument Track and trigger it via your pads?

If you ZIP the .ptx file, you should be able to attach it to your post here.

I didn’t try it while I was at my drummers place, Sorry.
    I can’t upload the zipped file . It’s still too big… 4.2mb??

    Download it here

    Hi,

I opened your session but don’t notice anything strange.
Please see Brad’s advice and double-check that the Instrument Track’s MIDI Output is set to EZdrummer 2.
The only other thing I can think of is if your EZdrummer 2 MIDI Event settings are changed and set to respond to a specific MIDI Channel only, instead of’ Any’, but I don’t think it should be a problem in Pro Tools anyways.

    Yes the track was armed.
“double-check that the Instrument Track’s MIDI Output is set to EZdrummer 2.” I’m not sure I understand what you mean? Where do I find this?

“EZdrummer 2 MIDI Event settings are changed and set to respond to a specific MIDI Channel only, instead of’ Any'” It is set to ANY

At the top of the track EZD is inserted on, you should see EZDrummer as the input. Not sure why but once in a while I found this would get changed in PT11.

On the track where EZD is inserted on…… are you referring the I/O input . That is on no input. I have another session where I recorded the drums the same way and I just checked and it was the same. And when I tried to change it ezd is greyed out.

It’s not the I/O input midway on the channel. This at the MIDI I/O top of the channel/track in the mixer. If you are not seeing it on instrument tracks then you need to select instrument from the views menu. I am doing this off the top of my head as I won’t be back to my PT rig until Monday.

If you mean is EZD there as an insert then Yes its is there.

No, the MIDI I/O ‘panel’ would be above the insert. If you don’t see it, one of 2 things to consider.
    1) you don’t have instrument view turned on.
    2) the channel/track is an audio track and not an instrument (unlikely but have seen it done by accident)

This is the section I am referring to,

aaaahhhh. It is an Instrument track but it says “no input”. From I remember it always says that…..and there’s nothing I can really select there.

Actually it should say EZDrummer. This is what a new instrument track looks like when I insert EZDrummer.
