UPDATE: Seems there’s not much love for this post, possibly because this type of glitch is so common, nobody wants to fool with answering it. I did get what appears to be a form letter back from Toontrack plus an email telling me stuff I already knew: that changes in your system, particularly hardware config, can change your computer ID number, and network cards can cause those problems. I don’t even use a network card, and as I stated here and in my note to Toontrack, the only “changes” made were: (1) turning the computer off at night, and (2) turning the computer back on in the morning.

Here’s the kicker: After leaving the computer off overnight again, I booted Pro Tools this morning and Presto! No glitch, everything worked smoothly. (Don’t know if it was something Toontrack did via the Internet or the machine mysteriously came back to its senses … ?) I was happy, of course, but a little spooked that a plugin I’d viewed as my future workhorse may not be consistently reliable. I was considering buying some more Expansion Packs, but now I’m not so sure. Are these types of authorization glitches commonplace, or was this an isolated incident? I don’t want to fork over more dough for something I can’t count on.

    No, they aren’t common.

You should check the front page. Looks like it is common.

There is a difference between a ‘glitch’ as discussed in this thread and the end user having NIC issues with authorization (which is common).

All works great here.  I own everything toontrack has to offer (except Beatstation) …I’m saving some $ to buy it  …and all works great.  This is my main workhorse for drums and they work great with my TD12 as well.  Hope this helps.
