I’ve had a similar experience in the audio to midi gui. After I imported an audio bass file, ezbass didn’t sound clean but rather almost like it was recorded in a lower bit rate. So far the other gui’s seems ok.

Seems like there may be some slight degradation over time?

I’m sure the dev guys are aware and are analysing and will provide a patch in there next iteration(s).

    Regards, Max.

    A couple differences..

Mine never leaves the world of midi.  Dragged straight to the timeline after applying a style in EZB.  Midi is dragged into EZB for the chord progression.

My audio is good and then bad….not always bad.  Ususally though.  It will start playback fine and then move to warble quickly.  Then it takes a restart of Logic or even the computer to make it happy for a few bars again.

Starting solid, then you can hear it start to warble.

    Full warble.

    Sorry for the click track.

Hope your audio to midi woes work out. That’s always a tough ask of any DAW or plugin.

    Thx.

Sounds like vibrato to me (and also a chorus or detune effect)! Do you have a MIDI keyboard connected? It could be that the mod wheel is acting up.

EZbass has three ways to modulate pitch: mod wheel (vibrato), pitch wheel (monophonic bends) and polyphonic pressure/aftertouch (polyphonic bends). I don’t know how advanced Logic’s MIDI monitor is, but I’d start by having a look there and see if there are any messages sneaking their way to EZbass.

    Thanks for the thoughts Erik!

Yes, thats exactly what it sounds like…a mod wheel has been enacted with vibrato.  I do have a couple MIDI keyboards, and a MIDI iPad app feeding MIDI.  I guess it is possible that an errant MIDI message is sneaking into the chain but it wasn’t recorded as such and it’s odd that it is sporadic…

    Hold the phone…

    Ugh, see below.

Watch those mod wheel / sketch book interactions folks…thank you Erik.  Now warble free. 🙂
