ezBass Quit Unexpectedly

Installed new release yesterday. All went fine. it opened and functioned. Suddenly, nothing except the subject error message. I updated the Product Manager. Indicated it was up to date. Same problem with exBass. Keys and EZD open and run flawlessly. ????

Quick response! How do I find those logs? I’m a musician not a coder or techie.

Tried a total reinstall which I believe included an update. Install was “successful.” When I opened EZBASS, it started to load, then an error message: Ezbass quit unepectedly. Icon shows up on menu bar bottom of screed, indicating “running” but selecting produces nothing. My only option is to force quit. Keys and Sup Drummer work fine. This is way out of my technical wheelhouse. Now trying to install on my Windows 10 machine.

If you click the “Report…” button in the dialog that says it quit unexpectedly, you see the log, where you can select all the text and copy it. The crash logs are also saved in ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports – you can get there by using “Go to Folder…” in Finder’s “Go” menu.

We know about a common crash at startup in this version of EZbass and it happens if the window size in the last session was about the size of the entire screen or larger. If you’ve never started it successfully, it can happen if the screen is small. Anyway, there is a way to avoid this type of crash: Open Applications > Utilities > Terminal and paste the following three lines into the Terminal window, all at once:

defaults write com.toontrack.ezbass Scale_StandAlone "0.8"
defaults write com.toontrack.ezbass Size_StandAlone "1150,735"
echo

That will set the GUI scale to 80% and the window size to the minimum in the EZbass standalone. This issue will be fixed in the next update.
