Can’t find a way to search the forum so I apologise if this topic has been discussed before. I have a freely recorded guitar track in Cubase – I have tempo mapped it so that I can sync some drums up to it at some stage – the tempo bounces around an average of about 120. My production process is that I always start (4/4) songs on bar 9 to give me some headroom to add stuff at the beginning. I decide to try using my copy of EZBass to generate a bass part. I created an instrument track for EZBass and inserted a sender on the guitar track, recorded into the Audio Tracker tab and created a bass part. While I have the Audio Tracker tab open the bass part syncs up nicely with the Cubase transport and plays in time with the guitar recording. The next step is to create a MIDI part. So I open the song track and put the play head at the start because it appears that the MIDI part gets padded at the beginning with my 9 bars of headroom. I create the MIDI part and switch to the Grid Tab. I set Cubase to start playing at the start of the guitar recording (bar 9) and start playing. For the first few bars the recording and bass MIDI play in time but very quickly they get out of sync and after several bars it’s a train wreck. I think the cause of this problem is that EZBass is picking up tempo changes from Cubase’s tempo track incorrectly because if I switch the EZBass metronome on every couple of bars it hesitates and misses a beat. This appears to be a problem with EZBass because I’ve used Superior Drummer to create drum parts that sync nicely with tempo mapped free recordings.
Has anyone experiences this issue? Any ideas how to resolve this?
Thanks
Bumping this, I have similar issue. Tracker plays perfect with track . song track playing faster than the actual track. it’s only 8 bars in the same tempo and ez bass has the correct tempo shown but is not adhearing to the tempo
