Udate; It seems to happened on my older/existing (cakewalk, sonar) project. When i start a project from scratch using cakewalk templates t seems to work right every time. As a work around for my older project; I start a new project with a cakewalk template, insert Ez bass, then copy/paste special the tracks from my older project to the new one. Hope it helps.

Ez Bass Audio engine inactive, check your audio device.

EZ Bass version 1.11 64bit. Cakewalk by band lab version 2020.05 build 039, 64bit

Open EZ bass, click on play, doesn’t play bassline. Click on Cakewalk Play recording with EZ bass, no sound? Add another Ez bass, no sound on the other ez bass but there is no inactive check your audio device on the right bottom corner. Tried to save recording, then open new project with ez bass, still no sound on play back? I took pictures of preference pages and soft synth when you click on ez bass. I went to utilities – cakewalk plug in manager and the ez bass is listed as a VST3. How would I change it to a VST2? I tried to add the pictures of the preference files to attachment on the bottom of this page but, it said, they were to big extension JPG error! the file is too big, remove the file. I can e-mail all 3 if you give me an email address. I bought the toontracks to make it easier and user friendly to record drums, bass and piano, but here I am struggling not to loose parts that took me hours to add to my creations. Try updating both Cakewalk and EZbass to the latest versions? If you go to “VST Settings” in the Cakewalk preferences and uncheck “Hide Related VST2 Plug-Ins”, the EZbass VST2 should become available.

Hi guys, please try the new update, EZbass 1.1.3. If the VST3 was crashing in Cakewalk before the update, does it work now?

Also, after trying the new VST3, even if it now works, please go to C:\ProgramData\Toontrack\EZbass (which is a hidden folder), take the file “errlog.doc” (if it exists) and attach it here. It may contain some info on how the crashes were possible to happen.

Thanks Olof. I did the update but didn’t find the error log. If there is anything to report I’ll let you know.
