I’m probably missing something obvious. When I open EZ3 within Logic, then create/select a groove, what’s the best method/process for moving that into a region within Logic? Is it literally just dragging and dropping the midi-file from EZ3 onto the Logic arrange window?
Maybe a few bonus questions: Any tips in general around EZ3 and Logic? How important is it to try to align the recommended groove BPMs with the Logic project BPM? I’m guessing that’s just subjective, that if I like how the EZ3 groove sounds at whatever BPM, then fine! Can I use Logic samples within EZ3 (I was thinking of some of the electronic hits)?
So far, I really really prefer EZ3 to Logic’s Drummer.
You could just use EZD3’s Song Track for your midi and arrange there. If you prefer to use Logic for your midi in this case, then you would treat it like any other virtual instrument you use.

Simply use your ears. The closer the BPMs match, the closer to the session drummer’s feel you will hear.
You may import audio files, yes. Just drag and drop from Finder to a drum slot in EZ.

So, goofing around with it more, I guess it does behave in one way like Logic’s and other 3rd party instruments. If I hit record in Logic, then manually play (via my controller), I generate a region on the track I have EZ3 loaded in.
I guess what I thought would happen, when I have a groove in EZ3 in the song track, would be that that groove would generate a region in Logic when I hit record in Logic. But, as I think through it, that’s probably awkward (programmatically). If dragging and dropping is the way, that’s fine. Just wanted to validate.
To be honest, I’ve always been a bit confused with any virtual instruments/plugs that have their own recording functionality (e.g., some looping plugs) and how they interact/integrate with Logic.
“If dragging and dropping is the way, that’s fine.”
There is no way, hence my answer.
Record in the Logic track, or arm the EZ Song Track and record there instead.
If you bought EZ only for its sounds and not any of it’s editing features, then there’s no need to keep the midi in EZ.
