I was wondering if anyone has EZ Player with Superior Drums working correctly with Logic 9.
This is what I want to do:
Record a measure of guitar in Logic. Then audition different grooves within the EZ Player BROWSER while Logic loops that measure. In EZ Player I have the SYNC option ON, and also the following checked in the EZP track option settings: Auto Rewind, Follow Host Play/Stop, Follow Host Position. I am running the most recent version of EZP (1.06).
This is what is happening:
I push play in Logic and also the play button just to the left of the “Transpose” section in EZ Player. Where EZP shows the name of the groove and also has the blue dot showing the length and position it is playing within the groove, I can see that the groove starts just slightly after the very beginning. It starts about 1/8-1/4 of a beat AFTER the beginning. This keeps it consistently out of sync with Logic.
When I do not have Logic playing, and just push the same play button within EZP, I can see that the groove starts exactly where it should: at the beginning of the groove.
To make this long story short, when EZ Player is synced to Logic, auditioning grooves in the EZP browser starts ahead of the Logic timeline.
Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks,

UPDATE TO MY ISSUE:
What I did not do originally, was the environment set-up as explained in the manual. It said the reason to do this is to avoid triggering other midi channels. But up to this point, it didn’t matter since I was just trying to get it to sync at all (I was not using any other instruments so I didn’t think it was an issue). Once I did the environment set-up, it pretty much syncs fine now (although it would be nice to be able to have the play button in EZ Player effect Logics transport). But there is another problem…..
On occasion it will miss the first drum hit when cycling back to the beginning of the groove. And once it a while it will fall out of sync, but quickly fixes its self. This is ONLY when playing a groove from the browser. When the groove is placed on a logic track, it works perfectly.
It this a bug or is there something I can do to fix it?
Thanks-
Anthony
I think you are experiencing the expected behavior of the EZplayer Browser in the current version. The ‘Follow Host’ alternatives are for the EZplayer Arranger Tracks.

We are aware of the issue and it will hopefully be fixed in the next version of EZplayer Pro. I have no information on when it will be released however.

Hope it be soon. It’s a major kind of bug IMO.
Peace.
