(EZ Drummer Lite Installer)I’m trying to install Lite on XP and 1/2 way through install it asks for a password. HUH? The password I used to register here doesn’t work. And if I choose to skip the files, it looks like I’ll be missing alot of files…high hat this, crash that, and on and on and on. And what the heck is Toontrack Solo Installer? Please help.
I see that you’ve authorized your EZD Lite. Are you still having problems?

Thanks for getting back to me. Yeah, well I did manage to get it authorized. This whole thing has got me really confused though. And not so much EZ Drummer as the whole package I bought. I see there is going to be quite the learning curve…at least for such a super newb like myself.
I purchased the Korg NanoPad, the NanoKey and the Lexicon Alpha (w/Cubase LE5). WOW, I’ll be reading these PDF user files and searching for forums like mad. I don’t have the first clue. And I was told that this would probably be the best (and easiest) way to go, being a beginner…whew…quite the challenge for me. Will keep me busy for a while. Feel pretty dumb. VST’s & DAW’s didn’t seem so confusing at first. I just closed Cubase after stumbling around in it for a while…did nothing at all….just looking around, went to close it and, wouldn’t ya know it, it CRASHED!! Hope that’s not a bad omen.
Played in a basement band many years ago. Nothing serious – just bars and weddings. Most of my background was playing drums but I have some keyboard and guitar experience. Retired now and thought this would be kind of a cool way to get back into it….without the commitment. Just for kicks. Looks like I’ll be doing more reading than composing….for quite a while….dang!
Thanks again though Scott. Wish me luck (I’ll need it), Gary
Hi,
if you mean the Authorization code, please look at the three videos in the Support Portal on how the procedure works:

I actually don’t even get to the phase where I need the authorization code. As I’m unzipping the files, it stops and asks for a password to unlock a file. Where do I find this password?
there is no such archive encryption, unless the party who has supplied you with the download repackaged it. Please download the full product again from OUR site by clicking the big red button relevant to your platform in your user account, and post again if problems persist, supplying us with a screenshot.

You mean the red button that says “PC”? That was where I downloaded it. I will post the screen capture tonight when I get a chance. Unless somebody else reads this who has experienced this problem and can advise…
again, there is no request for ‘password’. My best guess is that this is a warning telling you that a specific file can’t be accessed. Causes vary for that type of problem, but until you post the exact message there is little point speculating what is at play.

You can attach a file/image by clicking on the ‘Post Reply’ button in a thread and clicking the ‘Click here to upload’ at the bottom of the message box. Brows to the file you want to attach. Tick the ‘Embed picture in post’ if you want to see the pic in the post, otherwise it will just attach the pic.

When I post reply, the File upload area says “Either the feature is disabled, or you do not have sufficient permission”.
Basically when I try to install the program there’s a file that does not exist. “Plug.cab”. I think there’s something wrong with the download feature. Perhaps I need to get my drum sounds from somebody else.
Hi,
could you please fill in your system details in your profile? It would help narrowing the problem down why the Executable can’t run on your particular system.
Best Regards,
John

SOLVED ****************
The extract path was too long for windows extractor
Extract files to c: (or whatever drive) and it will extract correctly. This will alleviate the install problems also, as no files were skipped during extract.
see this link for explanation if windows extractor
