I have a song playback in Reaper and would like to view notation of the song file..
I believe I need to bounce the song track to a new MIDI track. I added a new track and set this to receive from the song track and set EZ Keys MIDI out. I armed the receiving track and pressed record.
When recording had finished a MIDI track was added but this has no data in it.
Can anyone please advise or point me to a tutorial.
Thanks.
In order to move midi between Reaper and EZKeys you simply select the content then hold down the Ctrl and Alt key at the same time and drag. This key sequence will also let you drag midi fragments into notation software (Musescore 3.0). No need to bounce or record. Is that what you are looking for?
Thanks for replying Jazzmandan.
I want to view the notation of a song played by EZ Keys in Reaper.
I read somewhere that for this I first need to bounce/render the song to a MIDI track and then I can view the notation.
I had tried Ctrl+Alt and drag but this just makes a MIDI file of the EZ Keys patterns rather than the completed song. When I did try bouncing to a MIDI track I had just a blank track .. zero.
I found how to do it.
I was adding the styles directly to tracks in Reaper. Now I’m adding the syles into the timeline in the EZ Keys interface. The completed song MIDI can easily be exported here.
It’s working well now.
OK, good for you. But I was working on this – I suspect I still don’t fully understand what you are doing but glad you figured it out. EZKeys and Reaper are the perfect 1 – 2 punch for working with midi
