I am trying to output MIDI from my EZ Keys to my Roland JDXi. I cannot turn MIDI out on. The option is grayed out. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Hi,
this is from the manual:
EZkeys include a MIDI Out function whereby it is possible to route the MIDI signal to your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) in order to trigger the sounds from another virtual instrument, a sample based piano for example (or any type of sound generator fo that matter).
Using this function you can use EZkeys’ powerful writing tools and try diffefent sound palettes on your arrangement, on-the-fly, without the need to drag the MIDI blocks to your host after each tweak.
To direct the MIDI information out of EZkeys, simply select the ‘Enable MIDI Out’ entry in the Menu in the top right hand side corner of the User Interface:
Once that is done, you will need to route the signal to Your Favorite Sound Generator, or YFSG for short. Please review the ‘MIDI Out Overview‘ section of this manual for additional information.
Note that the ‘MIDI Out’ function is only available in select hosts and is not available in Standalone operation and as a result the ‘Enable MIDI Out’ entry pictured above will be greyed out in those scenarios.
Hope this helps.

Thanked by: FoggyOtisThank you so much. I was trying to route it to an external synth via while in stand alone mode. Guess that doesn’t work.
I’ve got EzKeys and Reaper setup (latest versions). I am hoping to be able to utilize EzKeys voices while editing in Reaper; can I internally map/link EzKeys with Reaper to do that? I’m a bit confused on the hosts vs standalone… “Note that the ‘MIDI Out’ function is only available in select hosts and is not available in Standalone operation and as a result the ‘Enable MIDI Out’ entry pictured above will be greyed out in those scenarios.”
thanks

EZkeys version: 1.3.1
Operating system: Windows 10
You can use EZkeys two different ways.
Standalone version launches by itself and is meant to playing sounds via a MIDI keyboard or using the Song Track to construct a keyboard track. But, if you are using EZkeys with a DAW and want to use a DAW MIDI editor and build a track up with other instrumentation, you’ll want to load EZkeys in your DAW as a plugin. You can’t use standalone and a DAW at the same time because they can’t sync.
You load EZkeys in your DAW like you would load any virtual instrument. If not sure how, check your DAW manual on specifics as they all operate slightly different.
