Correct. Please read the posts in this thread as they explain that the MIDI pack contains no sounds just MIDI and that you need the Mellotoon EZkeys library to play any string sounds.

Is it correct to assume that once you drag the Midi strings into your DAW, you can also trigger the sound by using another strings library like Session Strings Pro?

In other words, if you drag the midi into your DAW, you don’t really need the Mellotoon in case you are not happy with its sound. You can still use another strings library?

Really don’t need Mellotoon?!?! Of course you do!!!! :-)

No, seriously, you can use the MIDI out feature in EZkeys to output the Song Track in EZkeys to any other string plugin instrument if you want to create your part in EZkeys and hear a different string sound from a different plugin (like Session string pro, or Kontact, etc).

See the EZkeys manual, 3.7 Using other Sound Generators, for more details.

Basically – MIDI is to a computer what sheet music is for a musician. EZkeys expansions (EZKs) are to a computer what instruments are for a musician. You can write sheet music to a musician and ask him to play those notes on a piano, an organ or something else. In the same manner – you can edit MIDI and tell EZkeys to play that MIDI with a piano, a mellotron etc. Smile

Just to sum up. The midi pack eg the keys and string is “only” the MIDI string part (no sound) and the piano part is the (heard) sound. When using it in my DAW like pro tools the midi part will play any musical instrument as it is only the “sheet” like you can play a piano part on a guitar… I get it now… LOL it took awhile though..

I need the mellotoone… And the brass midi/ keys ;) (uh not ready yet….? )

    • Covering 3/4, 4/4, 5/4 and 6/8 playing variations in straight feel with tempos ranging from 60 BPM to 102 BPM (from the TT-page)

I´ve had this pack for years, but never found 5/4 or 6/8. What have I missed???
