I just purchased the keys/strings midi pack for EZ Keys and while the patterns show up in the browser, when I click on a pattern for strings to play I don’t hear any strings, just the piano part. Don’t understand why…
That is because the browser only contains MIDI, that is, the notes for what the loaded instrument should play. So if you load a piano in the main menu in the top, everything in the browser will play the piano. If you load our new product the Mellotoon, everything in the browser will play on that. The MIDI itself doesn’t contain any sound, only notes

Hello,
I purchased EZKeys Mellotoon. The description for the product says “• Each EZkeys comes loaded with an individual sound library.” Does the MIDI library that comes with Mellotoon already contain all the content in the ‘Keys & Strings EZkeys MIDI’ expansion?
Thanks

No. ‘Keys & Strings EZkeys MIDI’ is an expansion pack of the core EZKeys MIDI.
It’s the same type of expansion as the Funk, the Blues, Latin or Ballad MIDI expansion packs.
Maybe it’s confusing that they released it at the same time as the Mellotoon sound library.
Technically, EZKeys sound library expansions (like the Mellotoon or Classic Electrics) themselves do not include any MIDI.
When you purchase a sound library with the EZKeys base software, the ‘basic’ core EZKeys MIDI is included.
MIDI style expansions like the ‘Keys & Strings’ & ‘RnB’ extend the core EZKeys MIDI.
Thanks for the clarification. Now that I looked closely at the EZKeys Mellotoon product page, where it says: “• Each EZkeys contains the same software including all functionality as well as the extensive standard MIDI library”, I’m realizing that MIDI library refers to that actual midi patterns and sound library refers to the samples.
im still a bit confused .. can you play the string and piano parts together with the keys and strings pack or do you need to load it into a daw and load keys and string separtly
The Keys And Strings MIDI pack was made with the Mellotoon EZkeys library in mind. In the Mellotoon EZkeys library, there are patches that work well with that MIDI. You load the Mellotoon EZkeys library, choose a patch, and brows the MIDI library. You would have to load two instances of Mellotoon EZkeys if you want a string patch sound and also a keys patch sound. Then you can brows the MIDI separately for each.

Could you pls explain “You would have to load two instances of Mellotoon EZkeys if you want a string patch sound and also a keys patch sound.”
How can you do that? Do you do it in Ezkeys or in your DAW?
I have bought the Melltoon and the Key/String pack, but don’t know how to make them work.
Thank you
If you want a MelloToon string sound, you would load it in your DAW and select a string patch. If you then want a keys sound, you would load another EZkeys Mellotoon and select a different patch.

Well?? Eh?? I read your reply this way: I`ll need to load my EZKeys piano in my DAW eg pro tools and then load the piano sound on one track and on a track 2 load EZkeys extension pack eg strings??????
I’m not sure I follow you. If you want two different EZkeys patches (whatever those choices may be) you need to load two instances of EZkeys and select the library and sound accordingly for each instance.

My problem is I get no strings when loading EZkeys upright piano and Keys & Strings EZkeys MIDI loaded inside of my DAW (Pro tools) I`ve got lots og piano sound but no strings.
String sounds are available in the Mellotoon EZkeys expansion library.

So the expansion pack “Keys & Strings EZkeys MIDI” need” EZkeys Mellotoon” either as a sound expansion or as “Regular” to work? I can not make it work as an expansion pack in The EZkeys Upright piano??
