I have Samplitude Pro Suites installed in Win 7 w/all latest patches on a latest generation Intel I5 quad core, 24 gig memory, 5TB of hard drive. I use Reason rewired in Samplitude. I can use my properly configured keyboard as a controller in Samplitude’s synths, in Reason stand alone and in Reason used as a rewire app as well, so I have the keyboard set properly. I recently installed EZ Drummer 2 and can configure the keyboard (Axiom 49) to control it stand alone too. The problem comes when bringing EZ drummer in as a VST. When I do this, my keyboard no longer plays the drums in EZD2, although it still works in the other programs within the open instance of Samplitude. I see some others on this forum have a similar problem with their setups, although some may have different DAWS. I have opened Samplitude and a stand alone instance of EZD2, and the keyboard works with EZD2, so it’s not a resource issue. EZdrummer seems to not respond to the same keyboard in a VST instance as it will in stand alone. If this is the case, it is a major flaw that toontrack should investigate. If I’m doing something wrong, I am not the only one out there having this problem. Could someone from toontrack please respond? This is a most irritating thing, and is very bad for the creative flow, making EZdrummer, not EZ. The question is: shouldn’t the keyboard control EZD2 in vst mode as it does in stand alone? If not, how would you go about modifying a midi track to fit audio recorded in your DAW? Where would you play them together so you could put hits and fills appropriately? Thanks.
