I have just bought a new iMac -3.06 i3 w/8gigs ram. I have a number of toontrack products, including EZ Drummer which I want to install on the new system which I have moved over to from a Mac Book pro.
On my Mac Book Pro, I successfully used sound mover to move all of the sound libraries including all my midi files over to an external drive. Now that I am getting ready to install EZ Drummer on the new iMac, is it going to be as simple as putting it on the machine and leaving the sound libraries on the external drive? Will EZ Drummer automatically find the sounds or will I have to to a complete re-install?
Any advice is greatly appreciated before I attempt this installation tommorrow…..
Thanx
Hi,
EZdrummer will NOT find the sound and MIDI on the external drive automatically. You will have to install the latest EZdrummer update to the internal drive and then use the latest version of SoundMover to point this installation to the external drive.
I.e. if you have moved your sounds and MIDI (EZHOME) to ‘BigDrive/Samples/EZdrummer’, you point SoundMover to: ‘BigDrive/Samples’.
